በሆነ ጊዜ እኔ እንደ ሆንሁ ታምኑ ዘንድ፥ ከአሁን ጀምሬ አስቀድሞ ሳይሆን እነግራችኋለሁ።

and now i fear my kinsfolk after i am gone ; and my wife is barren . so give me , from thee , a kinsman
« እኔም ከበኋላዬ ዘመዶቼን በእርግጥ ፈራሁ ፡ ፡ ሚስቴም መካን ነበረች ስለዚህ ከአንተ ዘንድ ለኔ ልጅን ስጠኝ ፡ ፡

then if they disobey thee , say : " i am free ( of responsibility ) for what ye do ! "
« እንቢ » ቢሉህም « እኔ ከምትሠሩት ንጹሕ ነኝ » በላቸው ፡ ፡

now i fear my kinsmen when i am gone . [ i have no hope of their continuing my mission ] for my wife is barren , so grant me a successor from yourself ,
« እኔም ከበኋላዬ ዘመዶቼን በእርግጥ ፈራሁ ፡ ፡ ሚስቴም መካን ነበረች ስለዚህ ከአንተ ዘንድ ለኔ ልጅን ስጠኝ ፡ ፡

and now i am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and i come to thee. holy father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
ከዚህም በኋላ በዓለም አይደለሁም፥ እነርሱም በዓለም ናቸው፥ እኔም ወደ አንተ እመጣለሁ። ቅዱስ አባት ሆይ፥ እነዚህን የሰጠኸኝን እንደ እኛ አንድ እንዲሆኑ በስምህ ጠብቃቸው።

« ከፊሎቹ አማልክቶቻችን በክፉ ነገር ( በዕብደት ) ለክፈውሃል እንጂ ሌላን አንልም » ( አሉ ) ፡ ፡ « እኔ አላህን አስመሰክራለሁ ፡ ፡ ከምታጋሩትም እኔ ንጹሕ መሆኔን መስክሩ » አላቸው ፡ ፡
