and gently take it away ;
በቀስታ መምዘዝንም መዘዦች በኾኑት ፤

but we see it [ as ] near .
እኛም ቅርብ ኾኖ እናየዋለን ፡ ፡

they see it as being far off ;
እነርሱ ( ያንን ቀን ) ሩቅ አድርገው ያዩታል ፡ ፡

they surely take it to be far away ,
እነርሱ ( ያንን ቀን ) ሩቅ አድርገው ያዩታል ፡ ፡

and leave it as an empty plain ,
« ትክክል ሜዳም ኾና ይተዋታል ፡ ፡

but he denied it as false and disobeyed ,
አስተባበለም ፤ አመጸም ፡ ፡

we have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers .
እኛ ለበዳዮች ፈተና አድርገናታል ፡ ፡

he is the only lord , so choose him as your guardian .
( እርሱም ) የምሥራቅና የምዕራብ ጌታ ነው ፡ ፡ ከእርሱ ሌላ አምላክ የለም ፡ ፡ መጠጊያ አድርገህም ያዘው ፡ ፡

then we take it to ourselves , taking little by little .
ከዚያም ቀስ በቀስ ወደእኛ ሰብሰብነው ፡ ፡

o muhammad , in this very way we have made the criminals the enemies of every prophet , but your lord suffices for you as your guide and helper .
እንደዚሁም ለነቢዩ ሁሉ ከአመጸኞች የኾነ ጠላትን አድርገናል ፡ ፡ መሪና ረዳትም በጌታህ በቃ ፡ ፡

" then he shall leave it as a level smooth plain .
« ትክክል ሜዳም ኾና ይተዋታል ፡ ፡

and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false ?
ሲሳያችሁንም ( ዝናምን ) እናንተ የምታስተባብሉት ታደርጋላችሁን ?

and we left it as a sign . is there anyone who would take heed ?
ተዓምር አድርገንም በእርግጥ ተውናት ፡ ፡ ከተገሳጭም አልለን ?

even as your lord brought you out of your home with the truth , some believers were reluctant .
( ይህ በዘረፋ ክፍያ የከፊሉ ሰው መጥላት ) ከምእምናን ከፊሉ የጠሉ ሲኾኑ ጌታህ ከቤትህ በእውነት ላይ ኾነህ እንዳወጣህ ነው ፡ ፡

and when you call to prayer , take it in mockery and as a sport ; that is because they are a people who have no understanding .
ወደ ሶላትም በጠራችሁ ጊዜ ( ጥሪይቱን ) መሳለቂያና መጫወቻ አድርገው ይይዟታል ፡ ፡ ይህ እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሕዝቦች በመኾናቸው ነው ፡ ፡

do not take the unbelievers as your allies in preference to the believers . do you wish to offer allah a clear proof of guilt against yourselves ?
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ከምእምናን ሌላ ከሓዲዎችን ወዳጆች አድርጋችሁ አትያዙ ፤ ለአላህ በናንተ ላይ ግልጽ ማስረጃዎችን ልታደርጉ ትፈልጋላችሁን

a prophet would never order you to take the angels and the prophets as your lords . would he order you to disbelieve after you have submitted yourselves to god ?
መላእክትንና ነቢያትንም አማልክቶች አድርጋችሁ እንድትይዙ ሊያዛችሁ ( አይገባውም ) ፡ ፡ እናንተ ሙስሊሞች ከኾናችሁ በኋላ በክህደት ያዛችኋልን

and how can you take it when one of you has already gone in to the other and they have made with you a firm covenant ?
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

and how can ye take it back when one of you hath gone in unto the other , and they have obtained from you a rigid bond !
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !
