we, the indigenous representatives of communities from the department of potosi, together with delegates from neighbouring countries and political and community authorities, meeting at the first round table on the subject of “indigenous peoples and human rights”, organized by the indian movement tupaj amaru, as part of the programme of activities of the international decade of the world's indigenous people, held in the community of chajnacaya on 26 and 27 september 2000, solemnly make this declaration of principles.
