আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমাকে তাদের এবাদত করতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছে , তোমরা আল ্ লাহকে ছেড়ে যাদের এবাদত কর । আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমি তোমাদের খুশীমত চলবো না । কেননা , তাহলে আমি পথভ ্ রান ্ ত হয়ে যাব এবং সুপথগামীদের অন ্ তর ্ ভুক ্ ত হব না ।

and certainly the recompense of the life to come is better for those who believe and follow the right path .
আর অবশ ্ যই পরকালের পুরস ্ কার আরো ভালো তাদের জন ্ য যারা বিশ ্ বাস করে এবং ভয়-ভক ্ তি অবলন ্ বন করে ।

and allah indeed wants to turn graciously towards you ; but those who follow their lusts would want you to drift far away from the right way .
আর আল ্ লাহ ্ চান যে তিনি তোমাদের দিকে সর ্ বদা ফেরেন , কিন ্ তু যারা কাম-লালসার অনুসরণ করে তারা চায় তোমরাও যেন গহীন বিপথে পথ হারাও ।

surely your lord-- he best knows who goes astray from his way , and he best knows those who follow the right course .
আপনার প ্ রতিপালক তাদের সম ্ পর ্ কে খুব জ ্ ঞাত রয়েছেন , যারা তাঁর পথ থেকে বিপথগামী হয় এবং তিনি তাদেরকেও খুব ভাল করে জানেন , যারা তাঁর পথে অনুগমন করে ।

how is it that you enjoin others to follow the right way , but forget it yourselves , though you read the scriptures ? have you no sense at all ?
তোমরা কি মানুষকে সৎকর ্ মের নির ্ দেশ দাও এবং নিজেরা নিজেদেরকে ভূলে যাও , অথচ তোমরা কিতাব পাঠ কর ? তবুও কি তোমরা চিন ্ তা কর না ?

say : o followers of the book ! be not unduly immoderate in your religion , and do not follow the low desires of people who went astray before and led many astray and went astray from the right path .
বলুনঃ হে আহলে কিতাবগন , তোমরা স ্ বীয় ধর ্ মে অন ্ যায় বাড়াবাড়ি করো না এবং এতে ঐ সম ্ প ্ রদায়ের প ্ রবৃত ্ তির অনুসরণ করো না , যারা পূর ্ বে পথভ ্ রষ ্ ট হয়েছে এবং অনেককে পথভ ্ রষ ্ ট করেছে । তারা সরল পথ থেকে বিচ ্ যুত হয়ে পড়েছে ।

he said : the prayer of you both has indeed been accepted , therefore continue in the right way and do not follow the path of those who do not know .
তিনি বললেন -- ''তোমাদের দুজনের দোয়া ইতিমধ্যেই মঞ্জুর হল, কাজেই তোমারা উভয়ে অটল থেকো, আর তাদের পথ অনুসরণ করো না যারা জানে না।’’

and when it is said to them , follow what allah has revealed , they say : nay ! we follow what we found our fathers upon . what ! and though their fathers had no sense at all , nor did they follow the right way .
আর যখন তাদের বলা হয় -- ''অনুসরণ করো যা প্রত্যাদেশ আল্লাহ্ অবতারণ করেছেন’’, তারা বলে -- ''না, আমরা অনুসরণ করি তার যার উপরে আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের দেখেছি।’’ কি! যদিও তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের বুদ্ধিবিবেচনা কিছুই ছিল না, আর তারা পথনির্দেশ গ্রহণ করে নি?

( on the contrary ) , allah increases in guidance those who follow the right way . lasting acts of righteousness are better in the sight of your lord as reward and conducive to a better end .
আর যারা সৎপথে চলে আল ্ লাহ ্ তাদের সুগতি বাড়িয়ে দেন , আর স ্ থায়ী সৎকর ্ ম তোমার প ্ রভুর কাছে পুরস ্ কার প ্ রদানের জন ্ য সর ্ বশ ্ রেষ ্ ঠ আর সুফল ফলনের জন ্ যেও সর ্ বশ ্ রেষ ্ ঠ ।
