who assigned to you the earth for a couch , and heaven for an edifice , and sent down out of heaven water , wherewith he brought forth fruits for your provision ; so set not up compeers to god wittingly .

it is god who made for you the earth a fixed place and heaven for an edifice ; and he shaped you , and shaped you well , and provided you with the good things . that then is god , your lord , so blessed be god , the lord of all being .
আল ্ লাহ , পৃথিবীকে করেছেন তোমাদের জন ্ যে বাসস ্ থান , আকাশকে করেছেন ছাদ এবং তিনি তোমাদেরকে আকৃতি দান করেছেন , অতঃপর তোমাদের আকৃতি সুন ্ দর করেছেন এবং তিনি তোমাদেরকে দান করেছেন পরিচ ্ ছন ্ ন রিযিক । তিনি আল ্ লাহ , তোমাদের পালনকর ্ তা । বিশ ্ বজগতের পালনকর ্ তা , আল ্ লাহ বরকতময় ।

those who were before them [ had also ] schemed . then allah came at their edifice from the foundations and the roof fell down upon them from above and the punishment overtook them whence they were not aware .
তাদের পূর ্ ববর ্ তীরাও নিশ ্ চয়ই চক ্ রান ্ ত করেছিল , কিন ্ তু আল ্ লাহ ্ তাদের ধ ্ বংস করেছিলেন বুনিয়াদ থেকে , ফলে ছাদ তাদের উপরে ভেঙ ্ গে পড়েছিল তাদের উপর থেকে , আর তাদের উপরে শাস ্ তি এসে পড়েছিল এমন দিক থেকে যা তারা জানতে পারে নি ।

and thus did we make ( men ) to get knowledge of them that they might know that allah 's promise is true and that as for the hour there is no doubt about it . when they disputed among themselves about their affair and said : erect an edifice over them-- their lord best knows them .
আর এইভাবে আমরা জানিয়ে দিলাম ওদের সন ্ বন ্ ধে যেন তারা জানতে পারে যে আল ্ লাহ ্ ‌ র ওয়াদাই সত ্ য , আর ঘড়ি-ঘন ্ টা সন ্ বন ্ ধে , এতে কোনো সন ্ দেহ নেই । যখন তারা নিজেদের মধ ্ যে তাদের কর ্ তব ্ য সন ্ বন ্ ধে বিতর ্ ক করছিল তখন তারা বললে -- ''তাদের উপরে একটি সৌধ নির্মাণ কর’’। তাদের প্রভু তাদের বিষয়ে ভাল জানেন। তাদের কর্তব্য সন্বন্ধে যারা প্রভাব বিস্তার করল তারা বলল -- ''আমরা সুনিশ্চিত তাদের উপরে একটি মসজিদ বানাব’’।
