then a ( big ) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame .
অতঃপর একটি মাছ তাঁকে গিলে ফেলল , তখন তিনি অপরাধী গণ ্ য হয়েছিলেন ।

and he it is who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them , in the vale of makka so , after he had made you superior to them ; and allah is of that which ye work ever a beholder .
আর তিনিই সেইজন যিনি মক ্ কা উপত ্ যকায় তাদের হাতগুলো তোমাদের থেকে আর তোমাদের হাতগুলো তাদের থেকে ঠেকিয়ে রেখেছিলেন , তাদের উপরে তিনি তোমাদের বিজয় দান করার পরে । আর তোমরা যা করছ আল ্ লাহ ্ সে-সবের সম ্ যক দ ্ রষ ্ টা ।

and he it is who has withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of makkah , after he had made you victors over them . and allah is ever the all-seer of what you do .
আর তিনিই সেইজন যিনি মক ্ কা উপত ্ যকায় তাদের হাতগুলো তোমাদের থেকে আর তোমাদের হাতগুলো তাদের থেকে ঠেকিয়ে রেখেছিলেন , তাদের উপরে তিনি তোমাদের বিজয় দান করার পরে । আর তোমরা যা করছ আল ্ লাহ ্ সে-সবের সম ্ যক দ ্ রষ ্ টা ।

and his wealth was destroyed ; so he began to wring his hands for what he had spent on it , while it lay , having fallen down upon its roofs , and he said : ah me ! would that i had not associated anyone with my lord .
অতঃপর তার সব ফল ধ ্ বংস হয়ে গেল এবং সে তাতে যা ব ্ যয় করেছিল , তার জন ্ য সকালে হাত কচলিয়ে আক ্ ষেপ করতে লাগল । বাগনটি কাঠসহ পুড়ে গিয়েছিল । সে বলতে লাগলঃ হায় , আমি যদি কাউকে আমার পালনকর ্ তার সাথে শরীক না করতাম ।

certainly joseph brought you manifest proofs earlier , but you continued to remain in doubt concerning what he had brought you . when he died , you said , ‘ ‘ allah will never send any apostle after him . ’ ’
''আর নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের কাছে এর আগে ইউসুফ এসেছিলেন স্পষ্ট প্রমাণাবলী নিয়ে, কিন্ত তোমরা বরাবর সন্দেহের মধ্যে ছিলে তিনি যা নিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে এসেছিলেন সে-সন্বন্ধে। কিন্ত যখন তিনি মৃতুবরণ করলেন তখন তোমরা বললে -- 'আল্লাহ্ কখনো তাঁর পরে কোনো রসূল দাঁড় করাবেন না।’ এইভাবেই আল্লাহ্ পথভ্রষ্ট হতে দেন তাকে যে স্বয়ং অমিতাচারী, সন্দেহভাজন --

and ruin closed in on his crops , and so he began wringing his hands over what he had invested in it , as it lays fallen upon its trellises . and he was saying , “ i wish i never associated anyone with my lord . ”
অতঃপর তার সব ফল ধ ্ বংস হয়ে গেল এবং সে তাতে যা ব ্ যয় করেছিল , তার জন ্ য সকালে হাত কচলিয়ে আক ্ ষেপ করতে লাগল । বাগনটি কাঠসহ পুড়ে গিয়েছিল । সে বলতে লাগলঃ হায় , আমি যদি কাউকে আমার পালনকর ্ তার সাথে শরীক না করতাম ।

god has been true in his promise towards you when you blasted them by his leave ; until you lost heart , and quarrelled about the matter , and were rebellious , after he had shown you that you longed for . some of you there are that desire this world , and some of you there are desire the next world .
আর নিঃসন ্ দেহ আল ্ লাহ ্ ইতিপূর ্ বে তোমাদের কাছে তাঁর অঙ ্ গীকার পালন করেছিলেন যখন তোমরা তাঁর ইচ ্ ছায় তাদের টুকরো- টুকরো করছিলে , যতক ্ ষণ না তোমরা দুর ্ বলচিত ্ ত হয়ে পড়লে , আর তোমরা আদেশ সন ্ বন ্ ধে বিরোধ করলে ও অবাধ ্ য হলে যা তোমরা ভালোবাস তা তোমাদের দেখাবার পরে । তোমাদের মধ ্ যে কেউ ছিল যারা এই দুনিয়া চাচ ্ ছিল , আর তোমাদের মধ ্ যে কেউ ছিল যারা পরকাল চাচ ্ ছিল , তারপর তিনি তোমাদের তাদের থেকে পলায়নপর করলেন যেন তিনি তোমাদের শাসন করতে পারেন । আর তিনি নিঃসন ্ দেহ তোমাদের অপরাধ মার ্ জনা করলেন । আর আল ্ লাহ ্ বিশ ্ বাসীদের প ্ রতি অশেষ কৃপাময় ।

allah verily made good his promise unto you when ye routed them by his leave , until ( the moment ) when your courage failed you , and ye disagreed about the order and ye disobeyed , after he had shown you that for which ye long . some of you desired the world , and some of you desired the hereafter .
আর আল ্ লাহ সে ওয়াদাকে সত ্ যে পরিণত করেছেন , যখন তোমরা তাঁরই নির ্ দেশে ওদের খতম করছিলে । এমনকি যখন তোমরা ছত ্ রভঙ ্ গ হয়ে পড়েছে ও কর ্ তব ্ য স ্ থির করার ব ্ যাপারে বিবাদে লিপ ্ ত হয়েছে । আর যা তোমরা চাইতে তা দেখার পর কৃতঘ ্ নতা প ্ রদর ্ শন করেছ , তাতে তোমাদের কারো কাম ্ য ছিল দুনিয়া আর কারো বা কাম ্ য ছিল আখেরাত । অতঃপর তোমাদিগকে সরিয়ে দিলেন ওদের উপর থেকে যাতে তোমাদিগকে পরীক ্ ষা করেন । বস ্ তুতঃ তিনি তোমাদিগকে ক ্ ষমা করেছেন । আর আল ্ লাহর মুমিনদের প ্ রতি অনুগ ্ রহশীল ।

remember moses said to his people : " o my people ! call in remembrance the favour of allah unto you , when he produced prophets among you , made you kings , and gave you what he had not given to any other among the peoples .
আর স ্ মরণ করো ! মূসা তাঁর লোকদের বলেছিলেন -- ''হে আমার লোকদল! তোমাদের প্রতি আল্লাহ্‌র নিয়ামত স্মরণ করো যখন তিনি তোমাদের মধ্যে নবীদের নিযুক্ত করেছিলেন এবং তোমাদের বানিয়েছিলেন রাজা-রাজড়া, আর তোমাদের দিয়েছিলেন যা তিনি মানবগোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে অপর কাউকেও দেন নি।

we have indeed warned you of a calamity near at hand , a day when man will see what he had sent ( of his deeds ) ahead , and the unbeliever will say : " woe alas . ah would that i were dust ! "
আমি তোমাদেরকে আসন ্ ন শাস ্ তি সম ্ পর ্ কে সতর ্ ক করলাম , যেদিন মানুষ প ্ রত ্ যেক ্ ষ করবে যা সে সামনে প ্ রেরণ করেছে এবং কাফের বলবেঃ হায় , আফসোস-আমি যদি মাটি হয়ে যেতাম ।
