and if thou obeyedest most of those on the earth, they would lead thee astray from the way of allah; they follow not but their fancy, and they only conjecture.
އަދި ބިމުގައިވާ ގިނަ މީހުންނަށް ކަލޭގެފާނު ކިޔަމަންވެ ވަޑައިގެންފިނަމަ، އެއުރެން اللَّه ގެ މަގުން ކަލޭގެފާނު ފުރައްދައިފާނެތެވެ. އެއުރެން ހީއަކަށް ނޫނީ تبع އެއް ނުވެތެވެ. އަދި ދޮގުހަދާ ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައި މެނުވީ، އެއުރެން ނުވެތެވެ.

and there are among them illiterates, who know not the book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture.
އަދި އެއުރެންގެތެރޭގައި ލިޔާންކިޔާން ނުދަންނަ މީހުންވެސްވެއެވެ. ފޮތުންވެސް، مستحيل އުންމީދުތަކެއްނޫނީ އެއުރެންނަކަށް ނުފެނެއެވެ. އަދި ހީތަކެއް ކުރާކަމުގައިނޫނީ، އެއުރެން ނުވެތެވެ.

and they say: there is nothing but our life in this world; we live and die and nothing destroys us but time, and they have no knowledge of that; they only conjecture.
އެއުރެން ބުނޫއެވެ. ތިމަންމެންގެ ދުނިޔޭގެ ދިރިއުޅުންމެނުވީ، އެހެން ދިރިއުޅުމެއްނެތެވެ. ތިމަންމެން ދިރިތިބެމުއެވެ. އަދި މަރުވަމުއެވެ. އަދި ޒަމާން މެނުވީ ތިމަންމެން ހަލާކެއް ނުކުރެތެވެ. އެކަމާމެދު އެއުރެންނަކަށް އެއްވެސް علم އެއް ނުވެއެވެ. އެއުރެންނީ ހީކުރާބަޔަކު ކަމުގައިމެނުވީ ނުވެތެވެ.

and most of them do not follow (anything) but conjecture; surely conjecture will not avail aught against the truth; surely allah is cognizant of what they do.

(some) say: (they are) three, the fourth of them being their dog; and (others) say: five, the sixth of them being their dog, making conjectures at what is unknown; and (others yet) say: seven, and the eighth of them is their dog. say: my lord best knows their number, none knows them but a few; therefore contend not in the matter of them but with an outward contention, and do not question concerning them any of them.
އެއުރެން (ކުރެ ބަޔަކު) ބުނާނެތެވެ. އެއީ ތިންމީހުންނެވެ. އެއުރެންކުރެ ހަތަރުވަނައަކީ އެއުރެންގެ ކުއްތާއެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެން (ކުރެ ބަޔަކު) ބުނާނެތެވެ. އެއީ ފަސްމީހުންނެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ ހަވަނައަކީ އެއުރެންގެ ކުއްތާއެވެ. ހީއަކަށް غيب ގެ ވާހަކަ ދައްކަނީއެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެން (ކުރެ ބަޔަކު) ބުނާނެތެވެ. އެއީ ހަތްމީހުންނެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ އަށްވަނައަކީ އެއުރެންގެ ކުއްތާއެވެ. ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! އެއުރެންގެ عدد ދެނެވޮޑިގަތުންބޮޑީ، ތިމަންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ. މަދުބަޔަކަށްމެނުވީ އެއުރެންގެ عدد އެއް ނޭނގެތެވެ. ފަހެ، ފާޅުވެގެންވާ جدل އަކުން މެނުވީ، އެއުރެންނާ ދޭތެރޭގައި ކަލޭގެފާނު جدل ނުކުރައްވާށެވެ! އަދި އެއުރެންނާ ދޭތެރޭގައި އެ جدل ކުރާ މީހުންކުރެ އެކަކާވެސް ކަލޭގެފާނު سؤال ނުކުރައްވާށެވެ!
