اس نے (پہلے مغرب کی طرف ایک مہم کا) سر و سامان کیا

have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who had gone before them? allah destroyed them! likewise it is for theunbelievers,
تو کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی ہے کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا کیا انجام ہوا ہے بیشک اللہ نے انہیں تباہ و برباد کردیا ہے اور کفاّر کے لئے بالکل ایسی ہی سزا مقرر ہے

تو کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی ہے کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا کیا انجام ہوا ہے بیشک اللہ نے انہیں تباہ و برباد کردیا ہے اور کفاّر کے لئے بالکل ایسی ہی سزا مقرر ہے

then the twain journeyed until when they met a boy, and he killed him. musa said: hast thou slain a person innocent not in return for a person assuredly thou hast committed a thing formidable.
پھر دونوں آگے بڑھے یہاں تک کہ ایک نوجوان نظر آیا اور اس بندہ خدا نے اسے قتل کردیا موسٰی نے کہا کہ کیا آپ نے ایک پاکیزہ نفس کو بغیر کسی نفس کے قتل کردیا ہے یہ تو بڑی عجیب سی بات ہے

have they not journeyed in the land and seen the fate of those before them? destroyed they were utterly by god; and a similar (fate) awaits the unbelievers.
تو کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی ہے کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا کیا انجام ہوا ہے بیشک اللہ نے انہیں تباہ و برباد کردیا ہے اور کفاّر کے لئے بالکل ایسی ہی سزا مقرر ہے

glory to him who journeyed his servant by night, from the sacred mosque, to the farthest mosque, whose precincts we have blessed, in order to show him of our wonders. he is the listener, the beholder.
وہ (ذات) پاک ہے جو ایک رات اپنے بندے کو مسجدالحرام یعنی (خانہٴ کعبہ) سے مسجد اقصیٰ (یعنی بیت المقدس) تک جس کے گردا گرد ہم نے برکتیں رکھی ہیں لے گیا تاکہ ہم اسے اپنی (قدرت کی) نشانیاں دکھائیں۔ بےشک وہ سننے والا (اور) دیکھنے والا ہے

so they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (moses) said: what! hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? verily thou hast done a horrid thing.
پھر دونوں آگے بڑھے یہاں تک کہ ایک نوجوان نظر آیا اور اس بندہ خدا نے اسے قتل کردیا موسٰی نے کہا کہ کیا آپ نے ایک پاکیزہ نفس کو بغیر کسی نفس کے قتل کردیا ہے یہ تو بڑی عجیب سی بات ہے
