تاکہ آپ اس قوم کو ڈر سنائیں جن کے باپ دادا کو (بھی) نہیں ڈرایا گیا سو وہ غافل ہیں،

تاکہ آپ اس قوم کو ڈر سنائیں جن کے باپ دادا کو (بھی) نہیں ڈرایا گیا سو وہ غافل ہیں،

he said: art thou come unto us that thou mayest drive us out of our land by thy magic, o musa!
اس نے کہا کہ موسٰی تم اس لئے آئے ہو کہ ہم کو ہمارے علاقہ سے اپنے جادو کے ذریعہ باہر نکال دو

and this is a recitation which we have made distinct that thou mayest recite it unto mankind with delay, and we have revealed it at intervals.
اور ہم نے قرآن کو متفرق بناکر نازل کیا ہے تاکہ تم تھوڑا تھوڑا لوگوں کے سامنے پڑھو اور ہم نے خود اسے تدریجا نازل کیا ہے

and if they incline unto peace, then thou mayest incline thereunto, and rely thou on allah; verily he is the hearer, the knower.
اور اگر وہ (کفار) صلح کے لئے جھکیں تو آپ بھی اس کی طرف مائل ہوجائیں اور اللہ پر بھروسہ رکھیں۔ بیشک وہی خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے،

in order that thou mayest admonish a people, whose fathers had received no admonition, and who therefore remain heedless (of the signs of allah).
تاکہ آپ اس قوم کو ڈر سنائیں جن کے باپ دادا کو (بھی) نہیں ڈرایا گیا سو وہ غافل ہیں،

they said: art thou come unto us that thou mayest turn us aside from our gods? then bring thou upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us, if thou art of the truth-tellers.
ان قوم والوں نے کہا کہ کیا تم اس لئے ہمارے پاس آئے ہو کہ ہمیں اپنے معبودوں سے منحرف کردو۔ لاؤ ہمارے پاس وہ (عذاب) جس کی دھمکی تم ہمیں دیتے ہواگر تم سچے ہو۔
