(اے مسلمانو) کیا تم یہ سمجھتے ہو کہ تم یونہی چھوڑ دیے جاؤگے حالانکہ ابھی تک اللہ نے (ظاہری طور پر) ان لوگوں کو معلوم ہی نہیں کیا جنہوں نے تم میں سے جہاد کیا اور خدا و رسول اور اہل ایمان کو چھوڑ کر کسی کو اپنا جگری دوست اور (محرمِ راز) نہیں بنایا۔ اور اللہ اس سے باخبر ہے جو کچھ تم کر تے ہو۔

say: 'what do you think if some chastisement of allah or the hour suddenly overtakes you: do you cry to any other than allah? answer, if you speak the truth.
آپ (ان کافروں سے) فرمائیے: ذرا یہ تو بتاؤ اگر تم پر اﷲ کا عذاب آجائے یا تم پر قیامت آپہنچے تو کیا (اس وقت عذاب سے بچنے کے لیے) اﷲ کے سوا کسی اور کو پکارو گے؟ (بتاؤ) اگر تم سچے ہو،

then there you are killing one another, and expelling a party of you from their habitations, conspiring against them in sin and enmity; and if they come to you as captives, you ransom them; yet their expulsion was forbidden you. what, do you believe in part of the book, and disbelieve in part? what shall be the recompense of those of you who do that, but degradation in the present life, and on the day of resurrection to be returned unto the most terrible of chastisement? and god is not heedless of the things you do.
لیکن اس کے بعد تم نے قتل و خون شروع کردیا. لوگوں کو علاقہ سے باہر نکالنے لگے اور گناہ وتعدی میں ظالموںکی مدد کرنے لگے حالانکہ کوئی قیدی بن کر آتا ہے تو فدیہ دے کر آزاد بھی کرالیتے ہو جبکہ شروع سے ان کا نکالنا ہی حرام تھا. کیا تم کتاب کے ایک حصّہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہو اور ایک کا انکار کردیتے ہو. ایسا کرنے والوں کی کیا سزاہے سوائے اس کے کہ زندگانی دنیا میں ذلیل ہوں اور قیامت کے دن سخت ترین عذاب کی طرف پلٹاد یئے جائیں گے . اور اللہ تمہارے کرتوت سے بے خبر نہیں ہے
