those that were before them cried lies, then the chastisement came upon them from whence they were not aware;

and then they will say: we believe therein. but whence can there be the attainment of faith from a place so afar.
waxay dhihi markaas waxaan rumaynay (xaqa) xagay uga ahaan inay meel fog wax ku qaataan (rumayn).

and if you should ask them who created them, they would certainly say: allah. whence are they then turned back?
haddaad warsato gaalada yaa abuuray waxay dhihi eebe ee xaggee loo iili.

do those who devise evil schemes feel secure that allah will not make the earth swallow them, or the punishment will not overtake them whence they are not aware?
ma aamin bay ka noqdeen kuwii dhagarta falay in eebe la gooyo dhulka, ama uga yimaaddo cadaab meelayna filayn.

did you not see those who dispute concerning allah's signs? whence are they, then, being turned astray?
ka warran kuwa ku murmi aayaadku eebe xaggee looga iili xaqa.

are they who plan ill-deeds then secure that allah will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that the doom will not come on them whence they know not?
ma aamin bay ka noqdeen kuwii dhagarta falay in eebe la gooyo dhulka, ama uga yimaaddo cadaab meelayna filayn.

and (as to) those who reject our communications, we draw them near (to destruction) by degrees from whence they know not.
kuwa beeniyey aayaadkanaga waxaannu ka qaban meel ayna ogayn.

and he provideth for him from whence he reckoneth not upon. and whosoever putteth his trust in allah he will suffice him. verily allah is sure to attain his purpose, and allah hath appointed unto everything a measure.

[then he said to adam,] ‘o adam, dwell with your mate in paradise, and eat thereof whence you wish; but do not approach this tree, lest you should be among the wrongdoers.’
