Гуфт: «Ту дар шумори мӯҳлатёфтагонӣ,

and verily thou art of a high and noble disposition.
ва турост хулқе азим.

allah said: verily then thou art of the respited:
Гуфт: «Ту дар шумори мӯҳлатёфтагонӣ,

for each of you we have appointed a law and a way of life.
Барон ҳар гурӯҳе аз шумо шариъат ва равише ниҳодем.

god is the giver of life and death and sees all that you do.
Ва Худост, ки зинда мекунад ва мемиронад ва Ӯст, ки корҳои шуморо мебинад!

so bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers.
Агар рост мегӯӣ, нишонае биёвар».

he is the giver of life and death, and to him you will return.
Ӯст, ки зинда мекунаду мемиронад ва ҳама ба сӯи Ӯ бозмегарданд.

(after they have crossed the limit of life allotted to them.)
Аммо аз он ҷои дур чӣ сон ба он даст ёбанд?

and they believed, so we gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.
