he holds the sky in position lest it should fall upon the earth save by his dispensation.
Ва осмонро нигоҳ дошта, ки ҷуз ба фармони Ӯ бар замин наафтад.

this is the right way; but most men are ignorant.
Ин аст дини росту устувор, вале бештари мардум намедонанд.

indeed god is gracious to men, but most men are not grateful.
Худо фазли худ ба мардум арзонӣ медорад. Вале бештари мардум шукркунанда нестанд.

and when he spoke to him, he said, "indeed, you are today established [in position] and trusted."
Ва чун бо ӯ сухан гуфт, гуфт; «Ту аз имрӯз назди мо соҳибмартаба ва боваринок ҳастӣ».

full of power, well-established (in position) with the lord and master of the throne,
нерӯманд, дар назди Худованди арш соҳибобрӯ

and when they saw them they said, 'lo, these men are astray!'
Ва чун ононро медиданд, мегуфтанд, ки инҳо гумроҳанд.

[who is] possessed of power and with the owner of the throne, secure [in position],
нерӯманд, дар назди Худованди арш соҳибобрӯ

and most certainly allah's promise will be fulfilled, though most men are not aware.
Ва огоҳ бошед, ки ваъдаи Худо ҳақ аст, вале бештарашон намедонанд!

[o men!] are you more difficult to create than the heaven which he has built,
Оё шумо ба офариниш сахттаред, ё ин осмоне, ки Ӯ бино кардааст?

but god raised him up (in position) and closer to himself; and god is all-mighty and all-wise.
балки Худованд ӯро ба назди худ боло бурд. ки Худо пирӯзманду ҳаким аст!

and when our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval. they are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them our verses.
Чун оёти равшангари Мо бар онон хонда шавад, нишони инкорро бар чеҳраи кофирон мешиносӣ чунон ки наздик бошад бар онон, ки оётро мехонанд, ҳамлавар шаванд.

bad women are for bad men, and bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women.
Занони нопок барои мардони нопок ва мардони нопок барои занони нопок ва занони пок барои мардони пок ва мардони пок барои занони пок.

and when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them).
Ва чун дар қиёмат мардумро ҷамъ оранд, бутон бо парастандагони худ душман бошанд ва аз ибодаташон мункиранд.

[remember] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower [in position] than you.
Шумо дар каронаи наздиктари биёбон будед ва онҳо дар каронаи дуртар буданд ва он қофила дар маконе пасттар аз шумо буд.

and we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.
Мо дар он ҷойҳо, ки метавон гӯш андохт, менишастем. Аммо ҳар кӣ акнун (ба) гӯш нишинад, шиҳоберо (оташпораеро) дар камини худ ёбад.

and recall what time thou settedst forth from thy household early to settle believers in positions for the fight. and allah is hearing, knowing.
Ва бомдодон аз миёни касони хеш берун омадӣ, то мӯъминонро дар он ҷойҳо, ки мебоист биҷанганд, биншонӣ ва Худо шунавову доност!

and they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them.
Ва барои занон ҳуқуқе шоиста аст, ҳамонанди вазифае, ки бар ӯҳдаи онҳост, вале мардонро бар занон мартабаест.

"and i follow the ways of my fathers,- abraham, isaac, and jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to allah: that (comes) of the grace of allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful.
Ман пайрави дини падаронам Иброҳиму Исҳоқу Яъқуб ҳастам ва моро нашояд, ки ҳеҷ чизро шарики Худо қарор диҳем. Ин фазилатест, ки Худо бар мову бар мардуми дигар арзонӣ доштааст, вале бештари мардум ношукранд.
