they ask you to tell them if it is true.
Аз ту хабар мепурсанд, ки оё ҳақ аст?

"i did not tell them anything except what you commanded me to tell them.
Ман ба онон ҷуз он чӣ Ту фармонам дода будӣ, нагуфтам.

and they ask thee to tell them if it be-true.
Аз ту хабар мепурсанд, ки оё ҳақ аст?

why (ask they)? what hast thou to tell thereof?
Аз ёд кардани (илми) он туро чӣ кор аст?

what concern do you have regarding its explanation? (you are not bound to tell them)

“who used to tell me, ‘do you believe it is true?’ –
ки мегуфт: «Оё ту аз онҳо ҳастӣ, ки тасдиқ мекунанд?

Оё аз онҳо паймон нагирифтаанд, ки дар бораи Худо ҷуз ба ростӣ сухан нагӯянд, ҳол он ки он чӣ дар-он китоб омада буд, хонда буданд?

this will annoy the prophet but he will feel embarrassed to tell you. god does not feel embarrassed to tell you the truth.
Албатта ин корҳо паёмбарро озор медиҳад ва ӯ аз шумо шарм медорад, Вале Худо аз гуфтани ҳақ шарм намедорад.

"call on your lord," they said, "to tell us the colour of the cow."
Гуфтанд: «Барои мо Парвардигоратро бихон то бигӯяд, ки ранги он чист?»

are you trying to tell god about something that does not exist on the earth? do you only mention empty names?
Шояд мехоҳед Ӯро аз чизе дар рӯи замин огоҳ кунед, ки намедонад, ё суханони беҳуда мегӯянд?»

ask your lord to tell us exactly what the cow looks like, so that god willing, we shall have the right description."
Ки он гов бар мо муштабеҳ шудааст ва агар Худо бихоҳад мо, ба он роҳ меёбам».

such (behaviour) annoys the prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth.
На он ки барои саргармӣ сухан оғоз кунед. Албатта ин корҳо паёмбарро озор медиҳад ва ӯ аз шумо шарм медорад, Вале Худо аз гуфтани ҳақ шарм намедорад.

so he caused hypocrisy to ensue in their hearts until the day they will encounter him, because of their going back on what they had promised allah and because of the lies they used to tell.
Ва аз он пас то рӯзе, ки бо ӯ мулоқот кунанд, бо он ваъдахилофӣ бо Худо ва он дурӯғҳо, ки мегуфтанд, дилҳояшонро ҷои нифоқ сохт.

(muhammad), tell them, "are you trying to tell god about something that he does not find in the heavens or earth?
Бигӯ: «Оё ба Худо аз чизе хабар медиҳед, ки дар замину осмон аз он хабаре надорад?

his people had no answer to his remarks but to tell one another, "expel him from our town; he and his people want to purify themselves."
Ҷавоби қавми ӯ ҷуз ин набуд, ки гуфтанд: «Онҳоро аз деҳаи худ биронед, ки онон мардуме ҳастанд, ки аз кори мо безорӣ меҷӯянд!

so he punished them by putting hypocrisy into their hearts till the day whereon they shall meet him, because they broke that (covenant with allah) which they had promised him and because they used to tell lies.
Ва аз он пас то рӯзе, ки бо ӯ мулоқот кунанд, бо он ваъдахилофӣ бо Худо ва он дурӯғҳо, ки мегуфтанд, дилҳояшонро ҷои нифоқ сохт.

(muhammad), if you were to tell them that after death they would be brought back to life again, the unbelievers would say, "this is nothing but obvious magic."
Ва агар бигӯӣ, ки баъд аз марг зинда мешавед, кофирон гӯянд, ки ин ҷуз ҷодуии ошкор нест!
