but when he tests him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "my lord has disgraced me."
எனினும் அவனுடைய உணவு வசதிகளைக் குறைத்து, அவனை (இறைவன்) சோதித்தாலோ, அவன், "என் இறைவன் என்னைச் சிறுமைப் படுத்தி விட்டான்" எனக் கூறுகின்றான்.

all this was done as a means of enjoyment for you and your cattle.
உங்களுக்கும், உங்கள் கால் நடைகளுக்கும் பலனளிப்பதற்காக (இவ்வாறு செய்துள்ளான்).

and certainly we have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks.
(மனிதர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை பூமியில் வசிக்கச் செய்தோம்; அதில் உங்களுக்கு வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளையும் ஆக்கித்தந்தோம் - எனினும் நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்துவதோ மிகவும் சொற்பமேயாகும்.

[all this] as a means of sustenance for you and your animals?
உங்களுக்கும், உங்கள் கால் நடைகளுக்கும் பலனளிப்பதற்காக (இவ்வாறு செய்துள்ளான்).

certainly we have established you on the earth, and made in it [various] means of livelihood for you. little do you thank.
(மனிதர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை பூமியில் வசிக்கச் செய்தோம்; அதில் உங்களுக்கு வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளையும் ஆக்கித்தந்தோம் - எனினும் நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்துவதோ மிகவும் சொற்பமேயாகும்.

surely we established him in the land and granted him means of access to every thing.
நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவருக்கு பூமியில் (தம் ஆட்சியை நிறுவ) வசதிகள் அளித்தோம்; இன்னும் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளிலிருந்தும் (தக்க பலனடையும்) வழியையும் அவருக்குக் (காண்பித்துக்) கொடுத்தோம்.

(these are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle.
(இவையெல்லாம்) உங்களுக்கும், உங்கள் கால் நடைகளுக்கும் பயனளிப்பதற்காக,

but whenever he trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: my lord despiseth me.
எனினும் அவனுடைய உணவு வசதிகளைக் குறைத்து, அவனை (இறைவன்) சோதித்தாலோ, அவன், "என் இறைவன் என்னைச் சிறுமைப் படுத்தி விட்டான்" எனக் கூறுகின்றான்.

and firon said: o haman! build for me a tower that i may attain the means of access,
(இவ்வளவு உபதேசித்த பின்னரும்;) "ஹாமானே உயரமான ஒரு கோபுரத்தை எனக்காக நீ கட்டுவாயாக - நான் (மேலே செல்வதற்கான) பாதைகளைப் பெறும் பொருட்டு!

but if they desire to deceive you, allah is indeed sufficient for you. it is he who strengthened you with his help and with the means of the faithful,
அவர்கள் உம்மை ஏமாற்ற எண்ணினால் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உமக்குப் போதுமானவன் - அவன் தான் உம்மைத் தன் உதவியைக் கொண்டும், முஃமின்களைக் கொண்டும் பலப்படுத்தினான்.
