and follow the best of what was revealed to you from your lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive,
நீங்கள் அறியாத விதத்தில், திடீரென உங்களிடம் வேதனை வரும்முன்னரே, உங்கள் இறைவனால் உங்களுக்கருளப்பட்ட அழகானவற்றைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்.

and believes in the truth of what is right,
நல்லவற்றை (அவை நல்லவையென்று) உண்மையாக்குகின்றாரோ,

ye did not hide yourselves lest your ears and your eyes and your skins should testify against you, but ye deemed that allah knew not much of what ye did.
"உங்கள் காதுகளும், உங்கள் கண்களும், உங்கள் தோல்களும், உங்களுகு; கு எதிராகச் சாட்சி சொல்லாமலிருக்கும் பொருட்டு, உ(ங்கள் பாவ)ங்களை நீங்கள் மறைத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை அன்றியும், நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றில் மிகுதமானதை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அறியமாட்டான் என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணிக்கொண்டீர்கள்.

people of the book! our messenger has come to make clear to you much of what you have hidden of the scriptures and to forgive you much. a light has now come to you from god and a clear book,
வேதமுடையவர்களே! மெய்யாகவே உஙகளிடம் நம்முடைய தூதர் வந்திருக்கின்றார். வேதத்திலிருந்து நீங்கள் மறைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவற்றில் பல விஷயங்களை அவர் உங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக் காட்டுவார். இன்னும், (இப்பொழுது தேவையில்லாத) அநேகத்தை விட்டுவிடுவார். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து பேரொளியும், தெளிவுமுள்ள (திருக் குர்ஆன் என்னும்) வேதமும் உங்களிடம் வந்திருக்கின்றது.

and he gave you much of what you seek; and if you enumerate the favours of allah, you will never be able to count them; indeed man is very unjust, most ungrateful.
(இவையன்றி) நீங்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்ட யாவற்றிலிருந்தும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடைகளை நீங்கள் கணிப்பீர்களாயின் அவற்றை நீங்கள் எண்ணி முடியாது! நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் மிக்க அநியாயக்காரனாகவும், மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

say (o muhammad saw): "travel in the land and see what was the end of those who rejected truth."
"பூமியில் நீங்கள் சுற்றி வந்து, (அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களைப்) பொய்ப்பித்தவர்களின் முடிவு என்ன ஆயிற்று என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

even if the wrongdoers possessed all that is on the earth, and as much of it besides, they would offer it on the day of resurrection to redeem themselves with it from a terrible punishment, and there will appear to them from allah what they had never reckoned.
மேலும், அநியாயம் செய்தவர்களிடம் பூமியிலுள்ளயாவும், அத்துடன் அது போன்றதும் இருக்குமானாலும் நிச்சயமாக கியாம நாளின் கொடிய வேதனைக்கு (அதிலிருந்து விடுதலை பெற அவையனைத்தையுமே) ஈடாகக் கொடுத்துவி(ட நா)டுவார்கள்; மேலும், அவர்கள் எண்ணிப் பார்த்திராதவையெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து அவர்களுக்கு (வேதனையாக) வெளியாகும்.
