there is a man who talks well of the world to your pleasing, and makes god witness to what is in his heart, yet he is the most contentious;
(நபியே!) மனிதர்களில் ஒருவ(கையின)ன் இருக்கிறான்; உலக வாழ்க்கை பற்றிய அவன் பேச்சு உம்மை ஆச்சரியத்தில் ஆழ்த்தும்; தன் இருதயத்தில் உள்ளது பற்றி(சத்தியஞ் செய்து) அல்லாஹ்வையே சாட்சியாகக் கூறுவான். (உண்மையில்) அ(த்தகைய)வன் தான் (உம்முடைய) கொடிய பகைவனாவான்.

he who desires the reward of this world, let him know that with allah is the reward of this world and also of the world to come. allah is all-hearing, all-seeing.
எவரேனும் இவ்வுலகின் பலனை(மட்டும்) அடைய விரும்பினால், "அல்லாஹ்விடம் இவ்வுலகப்பலனும், மறுவுலகப்பலனும் உள்ளன. அல்லாஹ் கேட்பவனாகவும் பார்ப்பவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்."

but if they turn away, say, "god suffices me: there is no deity but he: in him i have put my trust. he is the lord of the glorious throne."
(நபியே! இதன்) பின்னரும், அவர்கள் (உங்களை விட்டு) விலகி விட்டால் (அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "எனக்கு அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமானவன். (வழிபடுவதற்குரிய) நாயன் அவனையன்றி (வேறுயாரும்) இல்லை அவன் மீதே நான் பரிபூரண நம்பிக்கை கொண்டுள்ளேன் - அவன் தான் மகத்தான அரியாசனத்தின் (அர்ஷின்) அதிபதி" என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக!

all praise be to god to whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and his the praise in the world to come. he is all-wise and all-knowing.
அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ் - புகழ் எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது. வானங்களில் உள்ளவையும், பூமியியல் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே (உரியன); மறுமையில் புகழ்யாவும் அவனுக்கே. மேலும் அவன் ஞானம் மிக்கவன்; (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிபவன்.

all praise be to allah to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all praise be to him in the world to come. he is most wise, all-aware.
அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ் - புகழ் எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது. வானங்களில் உள்ளவையும், பூமியியல் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே (உரியன); மறுமையில் புகழ்யாவும் அவனுக்கே. மேலும் அவன் ஞானம் மிக்கவன்; (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிபவன்.

he is the living. there is no god but he. therefore pray to him with obedience all-exclusive. praise be to god, the lord of all the worlds.
அவனே (என்றென்றும்) உயிரோடிருப்பவன்; அவனையன்றி (வேறு) நாயனில்லை - ஆகவே நீங்கள் அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு தூய உள்ளத்தோடு அவனை அழையுங்கள்; அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹி ரப்பில் ஆலமீன் - அனைத்துப் புகழும் அகிலங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் படைத்துக் காத்துப் பரிபக்குவப்படுத்தும் நாயனான அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே ஆகும்.

and among mankind is he who worshippeth allah upon a narrow marge so that if good befalleth him he is content therewith, but if a trial befalleth him, he falleth away utterly. he loseth both the world and the hereafter. that is the sheer loss.
இன்னும்; மனிதர்களில் (ஓர் உறுதியும் இல்லாமல்) ஓரத்தில் நின்று கொண்டு அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்குகிறவனும் இருக்கிறான் - அவனுக்கு ஒரு நன்மை ஏற்படுமாயின் அதைக் கொண்டு அவன் திருப்தியடைந்து கொள்கிறான்; ஆனால் அவனுக்கு ஒரு சோதனை ஏற்படுமாயின், அவன் (தன் முகத்தை) அல்லாஹ்வை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்கிறான்; இத்தகையவன் இம்மையிலும் மறுமையிலும் நஷ்டமடைகிறான் -இதுதான் தெளிவான நஷ்டமாகும்.
