(போருக்கு வராது) நீங்கள் பின் வாங்குவீர்களாயின், நீங்கள் பூமியில் குழப்பம் உண்டாக்கி உங்கள் சுற்றத்தாரை (அவர்களுடன் கலந்து உறவாடுவதிலிருந்தும்) துண்டித்து விடுவும் முனைவீர்களோ?

and there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].
இன்னும், அந்நகரில் ஒன்பது மனிதர்கள் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் நன்மை எதுவும் செய்யாது பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்து கொண்டு திரிந்தார்கள்.

they said: by allah! assuredly ye know that we came not to work corruption in the land, nor we have been thieves.
(அதற்கு) அவர்கள், "அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது சத்தியமாக, நாங்கள் நாட்டிலே குழப்பம் உண்டாக்க வரவில்லை என்பதை நீங்கள் நிச்சயமாக அறிவீர்கள்; நாங்கள் திருடர்களுமல்லர்" என்றார்கள்.

(போருக்கு வராது) நீங்கள் பின் வாங்குவீர்களாயின், நீங்கள் பூமியில் குழப்பம் உண்டாக்கி உங்கள் சுற்றத்தாரை (அவர்களுடன் கலந்து உறவாடுவதிலிருந்தும்) துண்டித்து விடுவும் முனைவீர்களோ?

அவன் (உம்மை விட்டுத்)திரும்பியதும், பூமியில் கலகத்தை உண்டாக்கவே முயல்வான்; விளை நிலங்களையும், கால்நடைகளையும் அழிக்க முயல்வான்;. கலகத்தை அல்லாஹ் விரும்புவதில்லை.
