o ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen of men, but believe neither in allah nor in the last day. they are in parable like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy rain, which leaves it (just) a bare stone. they will be able to do nothing with aught they have earned. and allah guideth not those who reject faith.
நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், இறுதி நாளின் மீதும் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமல், மனிதர்களுக்குக் காட்டுவதற்காகவே தன் பொருளைச் செலவழிப்பவனைப்போல், கொடுத்ததைச் சொல்லிக் காண்பித்தும், நோவினைகள் செய்தும் உங்கள் ஸதக்காவை (தான தர்மங்களைப்) பாழாக்கி விடாதீர்கள்;. அ(ப்படிச் செய்ப)வனுக்கு உவமையாவது, ஒரு வழுக்குப் பாறையாகும்;. அதன் மேல் சிறிது மண் படிந்துள்ளது, அதன் மீது பெருமளவு பெய்து (அதிலிருந்த சிறிது மண்ணையும் கழுவித்) துடைத்து விட்டது. இவ்வாறே அவர்கள் செய்த -(தானத்)திலிருந்து யாதொரு பலனையும் அடைய மாட்டார்கள்; இன்னும், அல்லாஹ் காஃபிரான மக்களை நேர் வழியில் செலுத்துவதில்லை.
