(தான தர்மங்கள் செய்வதினால்) வறுமை (உண்டாகிவிடும் என்று அதைக்) கொண்டு உங்களை ஷைத்தான் பயமுறுத்துகிறான்.; ஒழுக்கமில்லாச் செயல்களைச் செய்யுமாறும் உங்களை ஏவுகிறான்;. ஆனால் அல்லாஹ்வோ, (நீங்கள் தான தருமங்கள் செய்தால்) தன்னிடமிருந்து மன்னிப்பும், (அருளும், பொருளும்) மிக்க செல்வமும் (கிடைக்கும் என்று) வாக்களிக்கின்றான்;. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விசாலமான (கொடையுடைய)வன்; யாவற்றையும் நன்கறிபவன்.

ஆத்மாவின் மீதும், அதை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தியவன் மீதும் சத்தியமாக-

satan threatens you with want, and orders you (to commit) shameful acts. but god promises his pardon and grace, for god is bounteous and all-knowing.
(தான தர்மங்கள் செய்வதினால்) வறுமை (உண்டாகிவிடும் என்று அதைக்) கொண்டு உங்களை ஷைத்தான் பயமுறுத்துகிறான்.; ஒழுக்கமில்லாச் செயல்களைச் செய்யுமாறும் உங்களை ஏவுகிறான்;. ஆனால் அல்லாஹ்வோ, (நீங்கள் தான தருமங்கள் செய்தால்) தன்னிடமிருந்து மன்னிப்பும், (அருளும், பொருளும்) மிக்க செல்வமும் (கிடைக்கும் என்று) வாக்களிக்கின்றான்;. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விசாலமான (கொடையுடைய)வன்; யாவற்றையும் நன்கறிபவன்.

(or) those who are greedy and order other people to be greedy, who themselves conceal the bounty that allah has given them. and we have prepared a humiliating punishment for the unbelievers.
அத்தகையோர் உலோபத்தனம் செய்வதுடன், (பிற) மனிதர்களையும் உலோபித்தனம் செய்யும்படித் தூண்டி அல்லாஹ் தன் அருட்கொடையினின்று அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்ததை மறைத்துக்கொள்கிறார்கள்;. அத்தகைய நன்றி கெட்டவர்களுக்கு இழிவான தண்டனையை நாம் சித்தப்படுத்தி வைத்துள்ளோம்.
