they said: o moses! either throw first, or let us be the first to throw?
"மூஸாவே! நீர் எறிகின்றீரா? எறிகிறவர்களில் நாங்கள் முதலாவதாக இருக்கட்டுமா?" என்று (சூனியக்காரர்) கேட்டனர்.

they will swear by allah unto you, when ye return unto them, that ye may let them be. let them be, for lo! they are unclean, and their abode is hell as the reward for what they used to earn.
(போரிலிருந்து வெற்றியுடன்) அவர்களிடம் நீங்கள் திரும்பி வருங்கால், நீங்கள் அவர்களைக்(குற்றம் பிடிக்காது) புறக்கணித்து விட்டுவிட வேண்டுமென்று அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அவர்கள் சத்தியம் செய்வார்கள்; ஆகவே நீங்களும் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டு விடுங்கள் - அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக அசுத்தமானவர்கள்; அவர்களுக்குப் புகலிடம் நரகமே அதுவே அவர்கள் தீவினைக்குரிய (சரியான) கூலியாகும்.

leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. they will come to know!
(இம்மையில் தம் விருப்பம் போல்) புசித்துக் கொண்டும், சுகம் அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டும் இருக்க அவர்களை விட்டு விடுவீராக அவர்களுடைய வீணான ஆசைகள் (மறுமையிலிருந்தும்) அவர்களைப் பராக்காக்கி விட்டன (இதன் பலனைப் பின்னர்) அவர்கள் நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

they said: 'we have put our trust in allah. our lord, do not let us be a temptation to the harmdoing nation.
(அதற்கு) அவர்கள்; "நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையே பூரணமாக நம்பி (அவனிடமே எங்கள் காரியங்களை ஒப்படைத்து)க் கொண்டோம் (என்று கூறி) எங்கள் இறைவனே! அநியாயம் செய்யும் மக்களின் சோதனைக்கு எங்களை ஆளாக்கிவிடாதே!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்கள்.

they said: o moses! either throw (first) or let us be the first throwers?
"மூஸாவே! முதலில் நீர் எறிகிறீரா? அல்லது நாங்கள் எறியட்டுமா?" என்று (சூனியக்காரர்கள்) கேட்டனர்.

and let those fear who, should they leave behind them weakly offspring, would fear on their account, so let them be careful of (their duty to) allah, and let them speak right words.
தங்களுக்கு பின்னால் பலஹீனமான சந்ததிகளை விட்டுச் சென்றால் (அவர்களுடைய நிலை என்னவாகும் என்று) அஞ்சுகிறார்களோ அவர்கள் பயந்து (முன் ஜாக்கிரதை நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்துக்) கொள்ளட்டும்;. மேலும் அல்லாஹ்வை அஞ்சி, இதமான வார்த்தைகளையே அவர்கள் சொல்லட்டும்.

and as for the two of you who are guilty thereof, punish them both. and if they repent and improve, then let them be. lo! allah is ever relenting, merciful.
உங்களில் அதை (விபச்சாரத்தை) செய்துவிடக்கூடிய இருவருக்கும் தண்டனை கொடுங்கள்;. அவ்விருவரும் (தாம் செய்த குற்றத்தை நினைத்து வருந்தி) தவ்பா செய்து தங்களை திருத்திக் கொண்டால், அவர்களை விட்டு விடுங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்போனும் கிருபையுடையோனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்.

but whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has come to you of knowledge, then say: come let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and our near people and your near people, then let us be earnest in prayer, and pray for the curse of allah on the liars.
(நபியே!) இதுபற்றிய முழு விபரமும் உமக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்த பின்னரும் எவரேனும் ஒருவர் உம்மிடம் இதைக் குறித்து தர்க்கம் செய்தால்; "வாருங்கள்! எங்கள் புதல்வர்களையும், உங்கள் புதல்வர்களையும்; எங்கள் பெண்களையும், உங்கள் பெண்களையும்; எங்களையும் உங்களையும் அழைத்து (ஒன்று திரட்டி வைத்துக் கொண்டு) 'பொய்யர்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ்வின் சாபம் உண்டாகட்டும்' என்று நாம் பிரார்த்திப்போம்!" என நீர் கூறும்.

tell my believing servants to be steadfast in prayer and to spend for the cause of their lord, both in private and in public, out of what we have given them. let them do this before the coming of the day when there will be no merchandising or friendship.
ஈமான் கொண்ட என் அடியார்களிடம் (நபியே!) "கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலும், நட்பும் இல்லாத (இறுதி) நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, அவர்கள் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்து ஒழுகட்டும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றிலிருந்து, இரகசியமாகவும் பகிரங்கமாகவும் (தான தருமங்களில்) செலவு செய்யட்டும்" என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

because of their ingratitude for what we have given them. let them enjoy themselves, but they will soon know (the consequences of their deeds).
நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அருளியதற்காக (நன்றி செலுத்தாமல்) அவர்களை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கட்டும்; நீங்கள் சுகமனுபவித்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள்; விரைவில் (இதன் விளைவை) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

do they envy others for the bounty that allah has bestowed upon them? (let them bear in mind that) we bestowed upon the house of abraham the book and wis-dom, and we bestowed upon them a mighty dominion,
அல்லாஹ் தன் அருளினால் மனிதர்களுக்கு வழங்கியவற்றின்மீது இவர்கள் பொறாமை கொள்கின்றார்களா? இன்னும் நாம் நிச்சயமாக இப்றாஹீமின் சந்ததியினருக்கு வேதத்தையும், ஞானத்தையும் கொடுத்தோம்;. அத்துடன் மாபெரும் அரசாங்கத்தையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தோம்.

when you are with them, and establish the prayer, let a party of them stand with you, and let them take their weapons. after making their prostrations, let them be behind you, and let another party who have not prayed come and pray with you, taking their precautions and their weapons. those who disbelieve wish that you should be inattentive of your weapons and your baggage, so that they might swoop upon you with one assault. but there is no fault in you if you are harmed by rain, or you are sick to lay aside your weapons, but take your precautions. allah has prepared a humiliating punishment for the unbelievers.
(நபியே! போர் முனையில்) அவர்களுடன் நீர் இருந்து, அவர்களுக்கு தொழவைக்க நீர்(இமாமாக) நின்றால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவினர் தம் ஆயுதங்களைத் தாங்கிக் கொண்டு உம்முடன் தொழட்டும்;. அவர்கள் உம்முடன் ஸஜ்தா செய்து (தொழுகையை முடித்ததும்) அவர்கள் (விலகிச் சென்று) உங்கள் பின்புறம் (உங்களைக் காத்து நிற்கட்டும்); அப்பொழுது, தொழாமலிருந்த மற்றொரு பிரிவினர் வந்து உம்முடன் தொழட்டும். ஆயினும் அவர்களும் தங்கள் ஆயுதங்களைத் தாங்கிய வண்ணம், தங்களைப் பற்றி எச்சரிக்கையாக இருக்கட்டும் - ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் உங்கள் ஆயுதங்களைப்பற்றியும், உங்கள் சாமான்களைப் பற்றியும் கவனனக் குறைவாக இருந்தால், அப்பொழுது உங்கள் மீது ஒரேயடியாகச் சாய்ந்து (தாக்கி) விடலாமென்று காஃபிர்கள் விரும்புகின்றனர்;. ஆனால் மழையினால் உங்களுக்கு இடைஞ்சல் இருந்தாலோ, அல்லது நீங்கள் நோயாளிகளாக இருப்பதினாலோ, உங்களுடைய ஆயுதங்களைக் (கையில் பிடிக்க இயலாது) கீழே வைத்து விடுவது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. எனினும் நீங்கள் எச்சரிக்கையாகவே இருந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் காஃபிர்களுக்கு இழிவு தரும் வேதனையைச் சித்தப்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கின்றான்.
