இன்னும், (நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உமக்கு முன்னர் வந்த தூதர்களும் (இவ்வாறே) பரிகசிக்கப்ப பட்டார்கள் - ஆனால் அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த (வேதனையான)து அவர்களை சூழ்நது கொண்டது.

surely the apostles have been mocked before you; but what they had mocked rebounded on the mockers themselves.
(நபியே!) உமக்கு முன்னர் வந்த தூதர்களும் நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வாறே) பரிகசிக்கப்பட்டனர்; முடிவில் அவர்கள் எதைப் பரிகசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனரோ அதுவே பரிகசித்தவர்களை வந்து சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது.

lest a soul should say, "oh [how great is] my regret over what i neglected in regard to allah and that i was among the mockers."
"அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு நான் செய்ய வேண்டிய கடமைகளில் குறை செய்து விட்டதின் கைசேதமே! பரிகாசம் செய்பவர்களில் நிச்சயமாக நானும் இருந்தேனே"! என்று (ஒவ்வொருவரும்) கூறாமல் இருப்பதற்காகவும்;

and indeed the noble messengers before you were also mocked – i therefore gave the mockers respite for some days and then seized them; so how (dreadful) was my punishment!
(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உமக்கு முன்னர் (வந்து சென்ற நம்) தூதர்களும் (இவ்வாறே) பரிகசிக்கப் பட்டனர்; ஆகவே, நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோருக்கு நான் தவணையளித்துப் பின்னர் அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டேன்; ஆகவே, (அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட) என் தண்டனை எவ்வாறு இருந்தது? (என்பதைச் சிந்திப்பார்களாக!)
