நான் எதிர்வினையாற்றவில்லை, ஆனால் எல்லாவற்றையும் கவனித்தேன்

he will say, "be quiet and say nothing."
(அதற்கவன்) "அதிலேயே இழிந்து கிடங்கள்; என்னுடன் பேசாதீர்கள்!" என்று கூறுவான்.

எனவே நீர் அழகிய பொறுமையுடன் பொறுப்பீராக.

and we distribute it among them in various ways that they may ponder and reflect; yet most men disdain everything but denial and thanklessness.
அவர்கள் படிப்பினை பெறுவதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு இதனை (குர்ஆனை) நாம் தெளிவு படுத்துகிறோம். மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நிராகரிப்போராகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

we have given examples of every kind to men in this qur'an in various ways, and even then most men disdain everything but unbelief,
நிச்சயமாக, இந்த குர்ஆனில் மனிதர்களுக்காக சகலவிதமான உதாரணங்களையும் (மிகவும் தெளிவாக) விவரித்துள்ளோம்; எனினும், மனிதர்களில் மிகுதியானவர்கள் (இதை) நிராகரிக்காதிருக்கவில்லை.

(so) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the exalted assembly but be cast away from every side,
(அதனால்) அவர்கள் மேலான கூட்டத்தார் (பேச்சை ஒளிந்து) கேட்க முடியாது இன்னும், அவர்கள் ஒவ்வோர் திசையிலிருந்தும் வீசி எறியப்படுகிறார்கள்.

he will sip it with difficulty but be unable to swallow, and death will approach him from every side and he will not die; and a severe punishment is after him.
அதை அவன் (சிரமத்தோடு) சிறிது சிறிதாக விழுங்குவான்; எனினும் அது அவன் தொண்டையில் எளிதில் இறங்காது ஒவ்வொரு திசையிலிருந்தும் அவனுக்கு மரணம் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்; எனினும் அவன் இறந்து விடுபவனும் அல்லன்; அன்றியும் அவன் முன்னே (மிகக்) கொடிய வேதனையும் உண்டு.

do they not perceive that god, who created the heavens and the earth, has the power to create the like of them? there is no doubt that. he has fixed a term for them. even then the wicked disdain everything but unbelief.
நிச்சயமாக வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவனாகிய அல்லாஹ் அவர்களைப் போன்றதைப் படைக்க ஆற்றலுடையவன் என்பதை அவர்கள் அறியவிலலையா? இன்னும் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு குறிப்பட்ட தவணையையும் ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறான்; இதில் சந்தேகமில்லை, எனினும், அக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் (இவ்வுண்மையை) நிராகரிக்காமல் இல்லை!

children of adam! take your adornment at every place of worship; and eat and drink, but be you not prodigal; he loves not the prodigal.
ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! ஒவ்வொரு மஸ்ஜிதிலும் தொழுங்காலம் உங்களை ஆடைகளால் அழகாக்கிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; உண்ணுங்கள், பருகுங்கள்; எனினும் வீண் விரயம் செய்யாதீர்கள். ஏனெனில் அல்லாஹ் அளவு கடந்து (வீண்) விரயம் செய்பவர்களை நேசிப்பதில்லை.

o children of adam! look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. lo! he loveth not the prodigals.
ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! ஒவ்வொரு மஸ்ஜிதிலும் தொழுங்காலம் உங்களை ஆடைகளால் அழகாக்கிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; உண்ணுங்கள், பருகுங்கள்; எனினும் வீண் விரயம் செய்யாதீர்கள். ஏனெனில் அல்லாஹ் அளவு கடந்து (வீண்) விரயம் செய்பவர்களை நேசிப்பதில்லை.

among the jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages and say, "we hear and disobey" and "hear but be not heard" and "ra'ina," twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. and if they had said [instead], "we hear and obey" and "wait for us [to understand]," it would have been better for them and more suitable. but allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.
யூதர்களில் சிலர் வேத வாக்குகளின் (கருத்தை) அதற்குரிய இடத்திலிருந்து புரட்டுகின்றனர்;. (இன்னும் உம்மை நோக்கி, 'நபியே! நீர் சொன்னதை) நாம் கேட்டோம், அதற்கு மாறாகவே செய்வோம்;, இன்னும் (நாம் கூறுவதை) நீர் கேளும்; (நீர் கூறுவது) செவியேறாது போகட்டும்!' என்று கூறி, 'ராயினா' என்று தங்கள் நாவுகளைக் கோணிக்கொண்டு (பேசி) சன்மார்க்கத்தைப் பழிக்கின்றனர்;. (ஆனால் இதற்குப் பதிலாக) அவர்கள் "நாம் செவியேற்றோம், இன்னும் (உமக்கு) நாங்கள் வழிப்பட்டோம்;" (இன்னும் நாம் சொல்வதை) கேளுங்கள்;, எங்களை அன்போடு கவனியுங்கள், (உள்ளுர்னா) என்று கூறியிருப்பார்களானால், அது அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையாகவும், மிக்க நேர்மையாகவும் இருந்திருக்கும்-ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய குஃப்ரின் (நிராகரிப்பின்) காரணமாக, அல்லாஹ் அவர்களைச் சபித்து விட்டான்;. ஆகையால், குறைவாகவே தவிர அவர்கள் ஈமான்கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.
