or, has he not been told of that which is in the scrolls of moses
அல்லது, மூஸாவின் ஸுஹுஃபில் - வேதத்தில் இருப்பது அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லையா?

and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded,
பட்டோலைகள் விரிக்கப்படும் போது-

nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled.
ஆனால், அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் விரிக்கப்பட்ட வேதங்கள் தனக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நாடுகிறான்.

aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded.
ஆனால், அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் விரிக்கப்பட்ட வேதங்கள் தனக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நாடுகிறான்.

what, are your unbelievers better than those? or have you an immunity in the scrolls?
(சென்று போன) அவர்களை விட உங்களிலுள்ள காஃபிர்கள் மேலானவர்களா? அல்லது, உங்களுக்கு (வேதனையிலிருந்து) விலக்கு இருப்பதாக வேத ஆதாரம் உண்டா?

forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out!
ஆனால், அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் விரிக்கப்பட்ட வேதங்கள் தனக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நாடுகிறான்.

what then, are your unbelievers better than those? or do you have an immunity (written) in the scrolls?
(சென்று போன) அவர்களை விட உங்களிலுள்ள காஃபிர்கள் மேலானவர்களா? அல்லது, உங்களுக்கு (வேதனையிலிருந்து) விலக்கு இருப்பதாக வேத ஆதாரம் உண்டா?

they say: 'why does he not bring us a sign from his lord' did not a clear sign come to them in the preceding scrolls?
"தம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை ஏன் அவர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வரவில்லை?" என்று (நிராகரிப்போர்) கேட்கின்றனர்; முந்தைய வேதங்களில் உள்ள தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா?

they say, 'why does he not bring us a sign from his lord?' has there not come to them the clear sign of what is in the former scrolls?
"தம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை ஏன் அவர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வரவில்லை?" என்று (நிராகரிப்போர்) கேட்கின்றனர்; முந்தைய வேதங்களில் உள்ள தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா?
