and your lord knows well all those who are in the heavens and the earth; and indeed among the prophets we gave excellence to some above others, and we gave the zaboor to dawud.
உம்முடைய இறைவன் வானங்களிலிம் பூமியிலும் உள்ளவர்களைப் பற்றி நன்கு அறிவான்; நபிமார்களில் சிலரை வேறு சிலரைவிடத் திட்டமாக நாம் மேன்மையாக்கியிருக்றோம்; இன்னும் தாவூதுக்கு ஜபூர் (வேதத்தையும்) கொடுத்தோம்.

so we gave him back to his mother that her eye might be refreshed, and that she might no grieve, and that she might know that the promise of allah is true, but most of them do not know.
இவ்வாறு அவருடைய தாயாரின் கண்குளிர்ச்சியடையவும், அவள் துக்கப்படாதிருக்கவும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானது என்பதை அவள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும் நாம் அவரை அவர் தாயாரிடத்தே திரும்பச் சேர்த்தோம் - எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

and so we made solomon understand it, and to each we gave wisdom and knowledge. and we subjected the mountains along with david to sing our praises, and the birds as well—surely we did.

so we responded to him, and we gave to him john, and amended for him his wife. indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate us in hope and fear, and they were to us humbly submissive.

and when he was fully grown, we gave him judgment and knowledge. even so we recompense the good-doers.

but they turned aside, so we sent upon them a torrent of which the rush could not be withstood, and in place of their two gardens we gave to them two gardens yielding bitter fruit and (growing) tamarisk and a few lote-trees.

so we responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. and we gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from us and a reminder for the worshippers [of allah].

and his wife was standing by and she started laughing*, so we gave her glad tidings regarding ishaq, and following ishaq, regarding yaqub.** (* she was glad that the disbelieving people of lut would be destroyed.** the birth of these two.)
அப்போது, அவருடைய மனைவியும் (அங்கு) நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்; இன்னும் அவர் சிரித்தார். அவருக்கு நாம் இஸ்ஹாக்கைப் பற்றியும், இஸ்ஹாஃக்குக்குப் பின் யஃகூபை பற்றியும் நன்மாராயங் கூறினோம்.
