அப்பால், (இடி முழக்கம் போன்ற) ஒரு சப்தம் நியாயமான முறையில் அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டது நாம் அவர்களை கூளங்களாக ஆக்கிவிட்டோம்; எனவே அநியாயக்கார சமூகத்தார் (இறை ரஹ்மத்திலிருந்தும்) தொலைவிலோ ஆகிவிட்டார்கள்.

பின்னர் இருவரும் ஒரு மரக்கலத்தில் ஏறும் வரையில் நடந்து சென்றனர், (மரக்கலம் கடலில் செல்லலானதும்;) அவர் அதில் ஓர் ஓட்டையைப் போட்டார்; "இதிலுள்ளவர்களை மூழ்கடிக்கவா நீங்கள் இதில் ஓர் ஓட்டையைப் போட்டீர்கள்? நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் ஓர் (அபாயகரமான) பெருங் காரியத்தைச் செய்துவிட்டீர்கள்" என்று (மூஸா) கூறினார்.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ் ஓர் ஊரை (அவர்களுக்கு) உதாரணங் கூறுகிறான்; அது அச்சமில்லாதும், நிம்மதியுடனும் இருந்தது, அதன் உணவு(ம் மற்றும் வாழ்க்கை)ப் பொருட்கள் யாவும் ஒவ்வோரிடத்திலிருந்தும் ஏராளமாக வந்து கொண்டிருந்தன - ஆனால் (அவ்வூர்) அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட் கொடைகளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தாமல் மாறு செய்தது ஆகவே, அவ்வூரார் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த (தீச்) செயல்களின் காரணமாக, அல்லாஹ் பசியையும் பயத்தையும் அவர்களுக்கு ஆடையாக (அணிவித்து அவற்றை) அனுபவிக்குமாறு செய்தான்.
