we shall preserve your body today that you may be a lesson for those who come after you; as many a man is heedless of our signs."
எனினும் உனக்குப் பின்னுள்ளவர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாக இன்றைய தினம் நாம் உம் உடலைப் பாதுகாப்போம்; நிச்சயமாக மக்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நம் அத்தாட்சிகளைப்பற்றி அலட்சியமாக இருக்கின்றார்கள்" (என்று அவனிடம் கூறப்பட்டது).

and he who comes to thee eagerly
ஆனால், எவர் உம்மிடம் விரைந்து வந்தாரோ,

but he who comes to you running,
ஆனால், எவர் உம்மிடம் விரைந்து வந்தாரோ,

and as to him who comes to you striving hard,
ஆனால், எவர் உம்மிடம் விரைந்து வந்தாரோ,

except for him who comes to god with a pure heart.
"எவரொருவர் பரிசுத்த இருதயத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடம் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ அவர் (கண்ணியம் அடைவார்)."

except him who comes before allah with a pure heart;
"எவரொருவர் பரிசுத்த இருதயத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடம் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ அவர் (கண்ணியம் அடைவார்)."

but only one who comes to allah with a sound heart."
"எவரொருவர் பரிசுத்த இருதயத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடம் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ அவர் (கண்ணியம் அடைவார்)."

if you meet them in battle, inflict on them such a defeat as would be a lesson for those who come after them, and that they may be warned.
எனவே போரில் நீர் அவர்கள்மீது வாய்ப்பைப் பெற்று விட்டால், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னால் உள்ளவர்களும் பயந்தோடும்படி சிதறடித்து விடுவீராக - இதனால் அவர்கள் நல்லறிவு பெறட்டும்.

as for him who comes to you striving (after goodness),
ஆனால், எவர் உம்மிடம் விரைந்து வந்தாரோ,

and when he alone will be saved who comes to god with a sound heart."
"எவரொருவர் பரிசுத்த இருதயத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடம் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ அவர் (கண்ணியம் அடைவார்)."

but he who comes to him as a believer, having done good deeds, shall be exalted to the highest ranks,
ஆனால், எவர்கள் முஃமினாக, ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல) செயல்களைச் செய்தவர்களாக அவனிடம் வருகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு மேலான பதவிகள் உண்டு.

"therefore concert your plan, and then assemble in (serried) ranks: he wins (all along) today who gains the upper hand."
"ஆகவே உங்கள் திட்டத்தை ஒரு சேரத் தீர்மானித்துக் கொண்டு அணி அணியாக வாருங்கள்; இன்றைய தினம் எவருடைய (கை) மேலோங்குகிறதோ, நிச்சயமாக அவர்தாம் வெற்றியடைவார்" (என்றுங் கூறினார்).

"this day shall we save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of our signs!"
எனினும் உனக்குப் பின்னுள்ளவர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாக இன்றைய தினம் நாம் உம் உடலைப் பாதுகாப்போம்; நிச்சயமாக மக்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நம் அத்தாட்சிகளைப்பற்றி அலட்சியமாக இருக்கின்றார்கள்" (என்று அவனிடம் கூறப்பட்டது).

and all married women are forbidden for you except the wives of disbelievers who come into your possession as bondwomen; this is allah’s decree for you; and other than these, all women are lawful for you so that you seek them in exchange of your wealth in proper wedlock, not adultery; therefore give the women you wish to marry, their appointed bridal money; and after the appointment (of bridal money) there is no sin on you if you come to a mutual agreement; indeed allah is all knowing, wise.
இன்னும் (போரில் பிடிபட்டு உங்கள் ஆதரவிலிருக்கும்) அடிமைப் பெண்களைத் தவிர, கணவனுள்ள பெண்களை நீங்கள் மணமுடிப்பது விலக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. (இவையனைத்தும்) அல்லாஹ் உங்கள் மீது விதியாக்கியவையாகும். இவர்களைத் தவிர, மற்றப் பெண்களை, தவறான முறையில் இன்பம் அனுபவிக்காமல், அவர்களுக்கு உங்கள் செல்வங்களிலிருந்து (மஹராக) கொடுத்துத் (திருமணம் செய்யத்) தேடிக் கொள்வது உங்களுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே இவ்வாறு (சட்டப்பூர்வமாக மணந்து கொண்ட) பெண்களிடமிருந்து நீங்கள் சுகம் அனுபவிப்பதால் அவர்களுக்காக (விதிக்கப்பட்ட மஹர்)தொகையைக் கடமையாக கொடுத்து விடுங்கள். எனினும் மஹரை பேசி முடித்தபின் அதை(க் கூட்டவோ அல்லது குறைக்கவோ) இருவரும் சம்மதித்துக் கொண்டால் உங்கள் மேல் குற்றமாகாது - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தோனும், ஞானமுடையோனுமாக இருக்கிறான்.
