ஸலாம் (சாந்தி) என்பதைச் (செவியுறுவார்களே) தவிர அச்சுவனபதிகளில் அவர்கள் வீணான எதையும் செவியுற மாட்டார்கள்; இன்னும் அங்கே அவர்களுக்குக் காலையிலும், மாலையிலும் அவர்களுடைய உணவு இருக்கிறது.

we know best what those who deny the truth say. you are not there to force them: so remind, with this quran, those who fear my warning.

"தம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை ஏன் அவர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வரவில்லை?" என்று (நிராகரிப்போர்) கேட்கின்றனர்; முந்தைய வேதங்களில் உள்ள தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா?

and they ask thee to hasten on the torment. and had not there been a term appointed, the torment would surely have come unto them. and surely it shall come upon them of a sudden while they perceive not.
இன்னும், (மறுமையின்) வேதனையைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் உம்மை அவசரப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்; மேலும், (அதற்கெனக்) குறிப்பிட்ட தவணை ஏற்படுத்தப்படாதிருப்பின் அவ்வேதனை அவர்களுக்கு வந்திருக்கும்; எனினும் (அத்தவணையை) அவர்கள் உணர்ந்தறிய முடியாதிருக்கும் நிலையில், அவர்களிடம் அ(வ்வேதனையான)து திடீரென்று வந்து சேரும்.

or, whereforeis not there cast down unto him a treasure or he has a garden whereof he may eat! and the wrong-doeray: ye follow only a man bewitched.
"அல்லது இவருக்கு ஒரு புதையல் அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அதிலிருந்து உண்பதற்கு (ஒரு பழத்)தோட்டம் உண்டாகியிருக்க வேண்டாமா?" (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்) அன்றியும், இந்த அநியாயக் காரர்கள்; (முஃமின்களை நோக்கி) "சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையேயன்றி, வேறெவரையும் நீங்கள் பின்பற்றவில்லை" என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

yet it is not for the faithful to go forth en masse. but why should not there a group from each of their sections go forth to become learned in religion, and to warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware?
