and of them are unlettered ones who know not the book but vain desires; and they do but conjecture.

and deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time.
அன்றியும், அவர்கள் (காண்பிக்கப் பெறும் அத்தாட்சிகளைப்) பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்படுகின்றனர், மேலும் தங்கள் இச்சைகளையே பின்பற்றுகின்றனர், ஆயினும் ஒவ்வொரு காரியமும் (அதற்கான நிலையில்) உறுதிப்பட்டே விடும்.

and allah would turn to you in mercy; but those who follow vain desires would have you go tremendously astray.
மேலும் அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் பாவமன்னிப்பு அளிக்க விரும்புகிறான்;. ஆனால் தங்கள் (கீழ்தரமான) இச்சைகளைப் பின்பற்றி நடப்பவர்களோ நீங்கள் (நேரான வழியிலிருந்து திரும்பி பாவத்திலேயே) முற்றிலும் சாய்ந்துவிட வேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறார்கள்.

"and we used to talk falsehood (all that which allah hated) with vain talkers.
"(வீணானவற்றில்) மூழ்கிக்கிடந்தோருடன், நாங்களும் மூழ்கிக்கிடந்தோம்.
