i say unto you, though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า แม้เขาจะไม่ลุกขึ้นหยิบให้คนนั้นเพราะเป็นมิตรสหายกัน แต่ว่าเพราะวิงวอนมากเข้า เขาจึงจะลุกขึ้นหยิบให้ตามที่เขาต้องกา

(alms are) for the poor who are straitened for the cause of allah, who cannot travel in the land (for trade). the unthinking man accounteth them wealthy because of their restraint. thou shalt know them by their mark: they do not beg of men with importunity. and whatsoever good thing ye spend, lo! allah knoweth it.
(คือให้บริจาคทาน) แก่บรรดาผู้ที่ยากจนที่ถูกจำกัดตัวให้อยู่ในทางของอัลลอฮ์ โดยที่พวกเขาสามารถจะเดินทางไปในดินแดนอื่นๆ ได้(เพื่อประกอบอาชีพ) ผู้ที่ไม่รู้คิดว่าพวกเขาเป็นผู้มั่งมี อันเนื่องจากความสงบเสงี่ยมเจียมตัว โดยที่เจ้าจะรู้จักเขาได้ด้วยเครื่องหมายของพวกเขา พวกเขาจะไม่ขอจากผู้คนในสภาพเซ้าซี้ และสิ่งดีใด ๆ ที่พวกเจ้าบริจาคไปนั้น แท้จริงอัลลอฮ์ทรงรู้ดีในสิ่งนั้น
