‘missiology today in the style of st paul’: this was the theme – perfectly suited to this pauline year- at the heart of the 61st spanish week of missiology which took place in burgos from july 7th to 11th. inaugurated by the archbishop of the city, francisco gil hellin, the event opened with a lecture on the theme ‘from the mission of st paul to the mission of the third millennium’ by the archbishop of pamplona francisco pérez gonzález who is also national director of the pontifical missionary works. fides news agency reports that during the lectures and the roundtable discussions, participants examined ‘the most concrete aspects of the spirituality and activities of the apostle, as well as contemporary ways of living the pauline charism.’ other lectures included: ‘joy of the triumph of god, root of the pauline mission,’ ‘mission to the new aeropaguses in the style of st paul,’ ‘the missionary method of st paul: churches that are born from and for mission,’ ‘women in mission according to the pauline charism,’ ‘st paul encounters the others’ and ‘the missionary spirituality of st paul.’
