ان دونوں میں سے ایک لڑکی نے کہا کہ بابا آپ انہیں نوکر رکھ لیجئے کہ آپ جسے بھی نوکر رکھنا چاہیں ان میں سب سے بہتر وہ ہوگا جو صاحبِ قوت بھی ہو اور امانتدار بھی ہو
and said one of the twain: o my father! hire him, for the best that thou canst hire is the strong and trustworthy one.

اور روک کردی گئی ان میں اور اس میں جسے چاہتے ہیں جیسے ان کے پہلے گروہوں سے کیا گیا تھا بیشک وہ دھوکا ڈالنے والے شک میں تھے
a barrier shall be raised between them and what they desired, as was done with their partisans before. they too were filled with disquieting doubt.

اور وہ اگر چاہتا کہ اپنا فرزند بنائے تو اپنی مخلوقات میں جسے چاہتا اس کا انتخاب کرلیتا وہ پاک و بے نیاز ہے اور وہی خدائے یکتا اور قہار ہے
had allah willed to take a son (or offspring or children), he could have chosen whom he pleased out of those whom he created. but glory be to him! (he is above such things). he is allah, the one, the irresistible.

یہ اللہ کی ہدایت ہے کہ اپنے بندوں میں جسے چاہے دے، اور اگر وہ شرک کرتے تو ضرور ان کا کیا اکارت جاتا،
such is god’s guidance. he guides with it whomever he wills of his servants. had they associated, their deeds would have gone in vain.

اور ہمارے لیے اس دنیا میں بھلائی لکھ اور آخرت میں بیشک ہم تیری طرف رجوع لائے، فرمایا میرا عذاب میں جسے چاہوں دوں اور میری رحمت ہر چیز کو گھیرے ہے تو عنقریب میں نعمتوں کو ان کے لیے لکھ دوں گا جو ڈرتے اور زکوٰة دیتے ہیں اور وہ ہماری آیتوں پر ایمان لاتے ہیں،
"and ordain for us that which is good, in this life and in the hereafter: for we have turned unto thee." he said: "with my punishment i visit whom i will; but my mercy extendeth to all things. that (mercy) i shall ordain for those who do right, and practise regular charity, and those who believe in our signs;-

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں تو تم جیسا ہی ایک انسان ہوں۔ (ہاں) میری جانب وحی کی جاتی ہے کہ سب کا معبود صرف ایک ہی معبود ہے، تو جسے بھی اپنے پروردگار سے ملنے کی آرزو ہو اسے چاہئے کہ نیک اعمال کرے اور اپنے پروردگار کی عبادت میں کسی کو بھی شریک نہ کرے
proclaim, “physically i am a human* like you – my lord sends divine revelations to me – that your god is only one god; so whoever expects to the meet his lord must perform good deeds and not ascribe anyone as a partner in the worship of his lord.” (* human but not equal to you, in fact the greatest in spiritual status.)
