(யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், ஞானம் மிக்கவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்தே இவ்வேதம் இறங்கியருளப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

(யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், புகழுடையோனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டார்கள் என்பதற்காக அன்றி வேறெதற்கும் அவர்களைப் பழி வாங்கவில்லை.
against these they had no grudge except that they believed in allah, the most mighty, the most praiseworthy,

இன்னும், (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், கிருபை மிக்கவனும் ஆகிய (இறை)வனிடமே முழு நம்பிக்கை வைப்பீராக!
and put thy trust in the mighty, the merciful.

"நான் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு (மாறு செய்து அவனை) நிராகரிக்க வேண்டுமென்றும், எனக்கு எதைப்பற்றி அறிவு இல்லையோ அதை நான் அவனுக்கு இணைவைக்க வேண்டுமென்றும் என்னை அழைக்கின்றீர்கள். ஆனால் நானோ யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவனும், மிக மன்னிப்பவனுமாகியவனிடம் அழைக்கின்றேன்.
"ye do call upon me to blaspheme against allah, and to join with him partners of whom i have no knowledge; and i call you to the exalted in power, who forgives again and again!"
