གཞོན་ནུ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོས་བཀག་ན།

གཞོན་ནུ་འདི་ནི་གདུག་པ་ཕ་རོལ་གནོན་པ་ཡིན་པས་
“the prince is dangerous and ruthless.

གང་གི་ཚེ་གཞོན་ནུ་མཛེས་དགའ་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བ་དེའི་ཚེ་ན་
when those hopes were shown to be just that, and the prince sundarananda became a renunciant,

ཀྱེ་གཞོན་ནུ་དག་ཚུར་ཤེག་བུ་གཞོན་ནུ་པང་ནས་སྐྱེས་སློང་ཤིག
talk sense into our dear boy kolita.”

ཁ་ཅིག་གཞོན་ནུའི་གནས་སྐབས་སུ་ལྟུང་བ་བྱུང་ནས་རྒན་པོར་གྱུར།
some incur transgressions in their youth and then grow old,

ཀྱེ་ཉེ་དུ་དག་ཚུར་ཤོག་བུ་གཞོན་ནུ་པང་ནས་སྐྱེས་སློང་ཤིག །
“family! come! talk sense into our dear boy kolita.”

གཞོན་ནུ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོས་ཕྱོགས་བཞིར་ཕོ་ཉ་རྟ་པ་དག་བཀྱེ་སྟེ།
prince bimbisāra sent mounted emissaries in the four directions with the message,

ཁྱོད་ནི་ཤིན་ཏུ་གཞོན་པ་བདེ་བ་བཞད་པ་ལགས་པས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མི་མཁྱེན་ཏེ།
you are very young and have lived a life of leisure, and you do not know what it is to suffer.

དགེ་སློང་དག་འདི་གཉིས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་ལས་ཚོགས་རྙེད་པ། རྐྱེན་ཡོངས་སུ་བསྒྱུར་བ།
“monks, these two themselves performed the actions—which have accrued a heap of karma, whose results have matured,

ལས་རྣམས་བསྐལ་པ་བརྒྱར་ཡང་ནི། །ཆུད་མི་ཟ་བའང་ཚོགས་དང་དུས།
“actions never waste away, not even after one hundred eons.

རྒན་ཆེས་པ་དང་གཞོན་ཆེས་དང་། །ཐེང་པོ་སྨད་འཆར་ཞར་བ་དང་། །
