?ef wannect-agi i t-yeḥseb sidi ṛebbi d aḥeqqi.
and therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

mačči fell-as kan i gura di tira iqedsen : yețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi,
now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

akken yura di tektabt iqedsen : ulac amdan aḥeqqi, ulac ula d yiwen,
as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:

akken yura di tira iqedsen : sidna ibṛahim yețkel ɣef ṛebbi, daymi i gețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi .
for what saith the scripture? abraham believed god, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

issemneɛ anagar luṭ yellan d aḥeqqi, yemmuɣbnen ɣef yir lecɣal n lɣaci amcum yellan di zzman-is.
and delivered just lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

lqebṭan mi geẓra ayen yedṛan yețweḥḥid ṛebbi yenna : ?-țideț, amdan-agi d aḥeqqi.
now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified god, saying, certainly this was a righteous man.

melmi ițwaḥseb sidna ibṛahim d aḥeqqi, uqbel ad yeḍheṛ neɣ armi geḍheṛ ? mačči armi geḍheṛ meɛna uqbel !
how was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

twalam ihi ! amdan yețban-ed d aḥeqqi zdat sidi ṛebbi s lecɣal yelhan mačči kan s liman-is.
ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

akken yura : ibṛahim yumen s ṛebbi, yețkel fell-as, daymi i t-iḥseb sidi ṛebbi d aḥeqqi.
even as abraham believed god, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

akken daɣen win ur nețkil ara ɣef lxiṛ i gxeddem, meɛna yețkel ɣef ṛebbi i gețțarran amednub d aḥeqqi, ad yețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi ɣef ddemma n liman-is.
but to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

axaṭer ma yella tumneḍ seg wul, sidi ṛebbi a k-iḥseb d aḥeqqi ; ma tcehdeḍ s yimi-k aț-țețțuselkeḍ.
for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

ur yezmir yiwen ad yili d aḥeqqi ɣer sidi ṛebbi imi i gexdem ayen i d-teqqaṛ ccariɛa ; axaṭer ccariɛa tețbeggin-ed kan i wemdan belli d amednub i gella.
therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

eɛni ccariɛa txulef lemɛahdat n sidi ṛebbi ? xaṭi ! lemmer ccariɛa tezmer a d-tefk tudert i wemdan, tili yezmer wemdan ad yuɣal d aḥeqqi zdat ṛebbi s ccariɛa.
is the law then against the promises of god? god forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

axaṭer hiṛudus yețqadaṛ yeḥya imi i t-iẓra d argaz yeṣfan, d aḥeqqi, daymi i gețḥunnu fell-as. iḥemmel ad ismeḥses i wawal-is, meɛna m'ara s-isel iɛewweq.
for herod feared john, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
