therefore , what does it feel like to be a worker achieving so much yet faced with redundancy ? what does it feel like to live in a community dependent , directly or indirectly , on plants faced with closure despite such high productivity ? what does it feel like to be part of a country -- developed , productive , literate , numerate , highly-skilled , with good communications to the outside world -- and yet unable to compete for exports ? we all know what it is like to live in wales to try to build confidence and pride , to raise our economic standing and keep our manufacturing industries intact
