የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

why then , if you are not revived ,
የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

and we are not to be punished . "
« እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንም » ( አሉ ) ፡ ፡

why , if you are not at our disposal ,
የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

and we are not going to be tormented .
« እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንም » ( አሉ ) ፡ ፡

the blind and the seeing are not alike
ዕውሩና የሚያየውም አይስተካከሉም ፡ ፡

and the blind and the seeing are not alike
ዕውሩና የሚያየውም አይስተካከሉም ፡ ፡

but whose hearts are not in their prayer .
ለእነዚያ እነርሱ ከስግደታቸው ዘንጊዎች ለኾኑት ፤ ( ሰጋጆች ) ፡ ፡

and the blind and the sighted are not equal !
ዕውሩና የሚያየውም አይስተካከሉም ፡ ፡

and are not invested with the authority to compel them .
በእነርሱ ላይ ተሿሚ ( አስገዳጅ ) አይደለህም ፡ ፡

by the grace of your lord , you are not a mad man .
አንተ በጌታህ ጸጋ የተጎናጸፍክ ስትኾን ዕብድ አይደለህም ፡ ፡

and we are not responsible except for clear notification . "
« በእኛ ላይም ግልጽ የኾነ ማድረስ እንጂ ሌላ የለብንም ፡ ፡ »

and we are not unjust to them , but they themselves were unjust .
አልበደልናቸውምም ፤ ግን በዳዮቹ እነርሱው ነበሩ ፡ ፡

by your lord 's grace , you are not afflicted with madness ,
አንተ በጌታህ ጸጋ የተጎናጸፍክ ስትኾን ዕብድ አይደለህም ፡ ፡

we hasten in good works for them ? no , they are not aware .
በበጎ ነገሮች የምንቻኮልላቸው መኾንን ( ያስባሉን ) አይደለም ፤ ( ለማዘንጋት መኾኑን ) አያውቁም ፡ ፡

" and we are not the ones to receive pains and penalties ! "
« እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንም » ( አሉ ) ፡ ፡

implore not to-day ; verily ye from us are not to be succoured .
ዛሬ አትወትውቱ ፤ እናንተ ከእኛ ዘንድ አትረዱም ፡ ፡

and zakariya , when he cried to his lord : o my lord leave me not alone ; and thou art the best of inheritors .
ዘከሪያንም « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ብቻዬን አትተወኝ ፡ ፡ አንተም ከወራሾች ሁሉ በላጭ ነህ ሲል » ጌታውን በተጣራ ጊዜ ( አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡
