on a grievous day,
ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހަކަށް އެއުރެން ފޮނުއްވާނޭ ކަމުގައި އެއުރެން يقين ނުކުރަނީ ހެއްޔެވެ؟

you have uttered a grievous thing
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ތިޔަ ގެނައީ، ވަރަށްވެސް ނުބައިވެގެންވާ ބަހެކެވެ.

so announce to them a penalty grievous,
ފަހެ، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ހުރިކަމުގެ ވާހަކައިން ކަލޭގެފާނު އެއުރެންނަށް خبر ދެއްވާށެވެ!

and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement.
އަދި ކަރުގައި އަޅައިގަންނަ ކާނާއާއި، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ވެސްމެއެވެ.

surely i fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނާމެދު ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު ބިރުފުޅުގަނެތެވެ.

enveloping the people: this will be a penalty grievous.
އެ، ދުން މީސްތަކުން ފޮރުވައިލާނެތެވެ. (އަދި އެއުރެން ބުނާނެތެވެ.) މިއީ ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب އެކެވެ.

and that my penalty will be indeed the most grievous penalty.
އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عذاب އެއީ، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب އެއް ކަމަށްވެސްމެއެވެ.

and warns those who deny the life to come with grievous punishment.
އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، آخرة އަށް إيمان ނުވާމީހުންނަށް، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب އެއް، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިކަމުގެ خبر ވެސްމެއެވެ.

and we left therein a sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement.
އަދި ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب އަށް ބިރުގަންނަ ބަޔަކަށްޓަކައި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެރަށުގައި (އެއުރެން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވިކަމުގެ) علامة އެއް ލެއްވީމެވެ.

surely these love the transitory and neglect a grievous day before them.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، މިބައިމީހުން ދުނިޔޭގެ ދިރިއުޅުމަށް ލޯބިކުރެތެވެ. އަދި ބަރުދަންހުރި ދުވަހެއް އެއުރެންގެ ފަހަތަށް ދޫކޮށްލަތެވެ.

(they will be told): “you shall taste the grievous chastisement.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނީ، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ގެ ރަހަ ދެކޭނޭ ބަޔަކުކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

even though all the signs came to them, not till they face the grievous punishment.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް (عذاب ހުރިކަމަށް) ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ ބަސްފުޅު حق ވެގެންވާ މީހުން، އެއުރެންގެ ގާތަށް ކޮންމެ آية އެއް އަޔަސް، އެއުރެންނަށް ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ފެނިއްޖައުމަށް ދާނދެން، إيمان އެއް ނުވާނެތެވެ.

say: i fear, if i disobey my lord, the chastisement of a grievous day.
ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! އަހުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް އަހުރެން އުރެދިއްޖެނަމަ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އަހުރެން ބިރުގަންނަމެވެ.

allah has prepared for them a grievous punishment. evil indeed is that which they have done.
اللَّه، އެއުރެންނަށްޓަކައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އެއް ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެން ކޮށްއުޅުނު ކަންތަކުގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter.
އަދި ކިއެއްތަ! އެއުރެންނަށް (عذاب ދެއްވުމަށް) ކަނޑައަޅުއްވާފައިވާ ވަގުތަކީ، قيامة ވުމުގެ ވަގުތެވެ. އަދި قيامة ވުމުގެ ވަގުތު (އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް) ދަތިކަން މާބޮޑެވެ. އަދި ހިތިކަންވެސް މާބޮޑުމެއެވެ.

and warns those who do not believe in the hereafter that we have prepared for them a grievous chastisement.
އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، آخرة އަށް إيمان ނުވާމީހުންނަށް، ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب އެއް، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިކަމުގެ خبر ވެސްމެއެވެ.

allah has prepared for them a grievous chastisement. indeed, evil are the acts in which they are engaged.
اللَّه، އެއުރެންނަށްޓަކައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އެއް ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެން ކޮށްއުޅުނު ކަންތަކުގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

allah hath gotten ready for them a torment grievous; verily vile is that which they have been working.
اللَّه، އެއުރެންނަށްޓަކައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އެއް ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެން ކޮށްއުޅުނު ކަންތަކުގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

(in such falsehood) is but a paltry profit; but they will have a most grievous penalty.
(އެއީ) ކުޑަކުޑަ ވަގުތީ އަރާމެކެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެންނަށް ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ހުށްޓެވެ.

"that ye serve none but allah: verily i do fear for you the penalty of a grievous day."
اللَّه އަށް މެނުވީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އަޅުކަން ނުކުރާހުށިކަމެވެ! ހަމަކަށަވަރުން ވޭންދެނިވި ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނާމެދު ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު ބިރުފުޅުގަނެއެވެ.
