and plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate,
އަދި باطل ވާހަކަ ދައްކާ މީހުންނާ އެކުގައި، ތިމަންމެން باطل ވާހަކަ ދައްކައި އުޅުނީމުއެވެ.

no indeed! he is an obstinate opponent of our signs.
ހަމަހިލާ އެހެންނަކުން ނުވާނެއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އޭނާވީ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ آية ތަކަށް ދެކޮޅުހަދާ މީހެއް ކަމުގައެވެ.

and they besought judgment, and disappointed was every tyrant obstinate.
އަދި އެބޭކަލުން نصر އަށް އެދި ދެންނެވޫއެވެ. އަދި ހަރުކަށި، ކޮންމެ جبّار އަކު ގެއްލި ހަލާކުވިއެވެ.

[allah will say], "throw into hell every obstinate disbeliever,
(އެ ދެ ملائكة ންނަށް އަންގަވާނެތެވެ.) حق އާދެކޮޅުހަދާ، ގޮތްދޫނުކުރާ ކޮންމެ كافر އަކު ނަރަކަޔަށް އެއްލަވާށެވެ!

(for beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits,
އަދި ނުކިޔަމަންތެރި ކޮންމެ شيطان އެއްގެ ކިބައިން އެ އުޑު ރައްކާތެރިކުރެއްވީމެވެ.

"nor had we any authority over you. nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ މައްޗަކަށް ތިމަންމެންނަކަށް ބާރެއް ލިބިގެނެއް ނުވެއެވެ. އަދި ކިއެއްތަ! ތިޔަބަައިމީހުންވީ (ފުރެދުމުގައި) ހައްދުފަހަނަޅައިފައިވާ ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައެވެ.

and they requested victory from allah, and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.
އަދި އެބޭކަލުން نصر އަށް އެދި ދެންނެވޫއެވެ. އަދި ހަރުކަށި، ކޮންމެ جبّار އަކު ގެއްލި ހަލާކުވިއެވެ.

and yet among men there are such as dispute about allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion!
އެއްވެސް علم އަކާނުލައި، اللَّه އާމެދު ޖަދަލުކޮށް، އަދި ނުކިޔަމަންތެރި ކޮންމެ شيطان އަކަށް تبع ވެއުޅޭމީހުން، މީސްތަކުންގެތެެރެއިންވެއެވެ.

and that was 'aad, who rejected the signs of their lord and disobeyed his messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.
އެއީ عاد ބާގައިމީހުންނެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ آية ތަކަށް އެއުރެން ދެކޮޅުހެދޫއެވެ. އަދި އެކަލާނގެ رسول ންނަށް އެއުރެން އުރެދުނޫއެވެ. އަދި ހަރުކަށި، ކޮންމެ جبّار (އަނިޔާވެރި) އެއްގެ أمر އަށް، އެއުރެން تبع ވޫއެވެ.

but if they are obstinate, know that god is your helper and protector: how excellent a helper, and how excellent a protector is he!
އަދި އެއުރެން (ހަނގުރާމައަށް) އެނބުރިގެންފިނަމަ، ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، اللَّه އީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް نصر ދެއްވާ އެހީތެރިވަންތަ ރަސްކަލާނގެކަން ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ދަންނާށެވެ! އެހީތެރިވެވޮޑިގެންވާ ކަލާނގެ މޮޅުކަމާއެވެ! އަދި نصر ދެއްވާ ކަލާނގެ މޮޅުކަމާއެވެ!

in front of him (every obstinate, arrogant dictator) is hell, and he will be made to drink boiling, festering water.
އޭނާގެ ކުރިމަތީގައިވަނީ، ނަރަކައެވެ. އަދި އޭނާއަށް ބޯންދެއްވާނީ، ފާ ދިޔަފަދަ ފެނަކުންނެވެ.

he hears the signs of allah rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a penalty grievous!
اللَّه ގެ آية ތައް އެމީހަކަށް ކިޔައިދެވޭ އަޑުއަހައިމެ، ދެން އޭގެ އަޑު ނާހާފަދައިން ބޮޑާވެގަތުމާއެކު (كافر ކަންމަތީ ދެމިހުރުމަށް) ގަދަހަދާ މީހާޔަށް ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ހުރިކަމުގެ خبر، ކަލޭގެފާނު ދެއްވާށެވެ!

such were [the people of] ad: they impugned the signs of their lord and disobeyed his apostles, and followed the dictates of every obstinate tyrant.
އެއީ عاد ބާގައިމީހުންނެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ آية ތަކަށް އެއުރެން ދެކޮޅުހެދޫއެވެ. އަދި އެކަލާނގެ رسول ންނަށް އެއުރެން އުރެދުނޫއެވެ. އަދި ހަރުކަށި، ކޮންމެ جبّار (އަނިޔާވެރި) އެއްގެ أمر އަށް، އެއުރެން تبع ވޫއެވެ.

"as for the youth, his parents were people of faith, and we feared that he would grieve them by obstinate rebellion and ingratitude (to allah and man).
އަދި އެ ފިރިހެންކުއްޖާއާމެދު ދަންނާށެވެ! ފަހެ، އޭނާގެ މައިންބަފައިންވީ (ހެޔޮލަފާ) مؤمن ން ކަމުގައެވެ. ފަހެ، އެ ދެމީހުން އުރެދި كافر ވާ ދަރަޖައަށް އެދެމީހުންނަށް އެ ކުއްޖާ އުނދަގޫކޮށް، އަނިޔާދީފާނެކަމަށް ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު ބިރުގަތީއެވެ.

"(such) as dispute about the signs of allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of allah and of the believers. thus doth allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate transgressors."
އެއުރެންނީ، اللَّه ގެ آية ތަކާމެދުގައި އެއުރެންނަށް ލިބިފައިވާ އެއްވެސް ދަލީލަކާނުލައި ޖަދަލުކުރާ މީހުންނެވެ. اللَّه ގެ حضرة ގައްޔާއި، إيمان ވިމީހުންގެ ގާތުގައި އެކަމަށްހުރި ނުރުހުން ބޮޑުވެގެންވެއެވެ. ކޮންމެ ކިބުރުވެރި ޖައްބާރަކުގެ ހިތުގައި اللَّه ސިއްކަގައްސަވަނީ އެފަދައިންނެވެ.
