in fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome.
ஆனால், நிராகரிப்பவர்களோ பெருமையிலும், மாறுபாட்டிலும் (ஆழ்ந்து) கிடக்கின்றனர்.

[we said to him] "tomorrow they shall know who is the boastful liar,
"ஆணவம் பிடித்த பெரும் பொய்யர் யார்?" என்பதை நாளைக்கு அவர்கள் திட்டமாக அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

how many generations have we destroyed before them, who were far greater in riches and more boastful!
இன்னும், இவர்களைவிட மிக்க அழகான தளவாடங்களையும், தோற்றத்தையும் பெற்றிருந்த எத்தனையோ தலைமுறைகளை இவர்களுக்கு முன் நாம் அழித்திருக்கிறோம்.

do not hold men in contempt, and do not walk with hauteur on the earth. verily god does not like the proud and boastful.
"(பெருமையோடு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையாகவும் நடக்காதே! அகப்பெருமைக்காரர், ஆணவங் கொண்டோர் எவரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நேசிக்க மாட்டான்.

so that you may not grieve for what has escaped you, nor be exultant over what you have gained. god loves neither the conceited nor the boastful,
உங்களை விட்டுத் தவறிப்போன ஒன்றின் மீது நீங்கள் துக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கவும், அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் (அதிகம்) மகிழாதிருக்கவும் (இதனை உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அறிவிக்கிறான்); கர்வமுடையவர்கள், தற்பெருமை உடையவர்கள் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

do not turn your cheek in scorn away from people, nor walk proudly on the earth; allah does not love the proud and the boastful.
"(பெருமையோடு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையாகவும் நடக்காதே! அகப்பெருமைக்காரர், ஆணவங் கொண்டோர் எவரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நேசிக்க மாட்டான்.

so that you may not be saddened upon losing something, nor rejoice upon what you are given; and allah does not like any boastful, conceited person.
உங்களை விட்டுத் தவறிப்போன ஒன்றின் மீது நீங்கள் துக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கவும், அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் (அதிகம்) மகிழாதிருக்கவும் (இதனை உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அறிவிக்கிறான்); கர்வமுடையவர்கள், தற்பெருமை உடையவர்கள் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

do not avert your face from people out of haughtiness and do not walk with pride on the earth: for, behold, god does not love arrogant and boastful people.
"(பெருமையோடு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையாகவும் நடக்காதே! அகப்பெருமைக்காரர், ஆணவங் கொண்டோர் எவரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நேசிக்க மாட்டான்.

and if we let him taste favour after harm hath touched him, he saith: the ills have departed from me; verily he becometh elated, boastful.
அவனுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட துன்பத்திற்குப் பின், நாம் அருட்கொடைகளை அவன் அனுபவிக்கும்படிச் செய்தால், "என்னை விட்டுக் கேடுகள் எல்லாம் போய்விட்டன" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவான். நிச்சயமாக அவன் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியும் பெருமையும் கொள்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

(we do so) that you may not grieve over the loss you suffer, nor exult over what he gave you. allah does not love the vainglorious, the boastful,
உங்களை விட்டுத் தவறிப்போன ஒன்றின் மீது நீங்கள் துக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கவும், அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் (அதிகம்) மகிழாதிருக்கவும் (இதனை உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அறிவிக்கிறான்); கர்வமுடையவர்கள், தற்பெருமை உடையவர்கள் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

and if after adversity had come upon him, we let him taste prosperity, he says: 'evil has left me' see, he is jubilant and boastful,
அவனுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட துன்பத்திற்குப் பின், நாம் அருட்கொடைகளை அவன் அனுபவிக்கும்படிச் செய்தால், "என்னை விட்டுக் கேடுகள் எல்லாம் போய்விட்டன" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவான். நிச்சயமாக அவன் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியும் பெருமையும் கொள்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

and do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. indeed, allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.
"(பெருமையோடு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையாகவும் நடக்காதே! அகப்பெருமைக்காரர், ஆணவங் கொண்டோர் எவரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நேசிக்க மாட்டான்.

. korah was one of moses' nation. but he was insolent to them, for we had given him such treasures that their very keys were too heavy a burden for even the strong. his people said to him: 'do not exult; allah does not love the boastful.
நிச்சயமாக, காரூன் மூஸாவின் சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவனாக இருந்தான்; எனினும் அவர்கள் மீது அவன் அட்டூழியம் செய்தான்; அவனுக்கு நாம் ஏராளமான பொக்கிஷங்களைக் கொடுத்திருந்தோம் - நிச்சயமாக அவற்றின் சாவிகள் பலமுள்ள ஒரு கூட்டத்தாருக்கும் பளுவாக இருந்தன அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய கூட்டத்தார் அவனிடம்; "நீ (இதனால் பெருமைகொண்டு) ஆணவம் கொள்ளாதே! அல்லாஹ், நிச்சயமாக (அவ்வாறு) ஆணவம் கொள்பவர்களை நேசிக்கமாட்டான்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.
