he said: did i not tell thee that thou couldst not bear with me?
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he said, ‘did i not tell you that you cannot have patience with me?’
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he said: "did i not tell you you will not be able to bear with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he said, “did i not tell you that you will not be able to endure with me?”
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he answered: "did i not tell thee that thou canst have no patience with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

a reasonable one among them said, "did i not tell you that you should glorify god?"
அவர்களில் நடுநிலையுள்ள ஒருவர் "நீங்கள் தஸ்பீஹு செய்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் உங்களுக்கு கூறவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he replied, "did i not tell you that you would never be able to bear with me patiently?"
(அதற்கு அவர்,) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடியாது என்று உமக்கு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா? என்றார்.

(khidr) said: "did i not tell you that you can have no patience with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

"did i not tell you," he replied, "that you will not be able to bear with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்,) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடியாது என்று உமக்கு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா? என்றார்.

'did i not tell you' he replied, 'that you would not be able to bear patiently with me'
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

he (khidr) said: "did i not tell you, that you would not be able to have patience with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்,) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடியாது என்று உமக்கு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா? என்றார்.

his father said, "my son, do not tell your dream to your brothers lest they plot against you; satan is the sworn enemy of man.
"என் அருமை மகனே! உமது கனவை உன் சகோதரர்களிடம் சொல்லிக் காட்ட வேண்டாம்; (அவ்வாறு செய்தால்) அவர்கள், உனக்கு(த் தீங்கிழைக்க) சதி செய்வார்கள்; ஏனெனில் (அவ்வாறு சதி செய்யத் தூண்டும்) ஷைத்தான், நிச்சயமாக மனிதனுக்குப் பகிரங்க விரோதியாக இருக்கின்றான்.

[al-khidh r] said, "did i not tell you that with me you would never be able to have patience?"
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

but when the bearer of good tidings came to him, and laid it on his face, forthwith he saw once again. he said, 'did i not tell you i know from god that you know not?'
பிறகு, நன்மாராயங் கூறுபவர் வந்து, (சட்டையை) அவர் முகத்தில் போட்டபோது அவர் மீண்டும் பார்வையுடையோரானார்; "நீங்கள் அறியாததையெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து நிச்சயமாக நான் அறிவேன் என்று உங்களிடம் கூறவில்லையா?" என்று (அவர்களை நோக்கிக்) கூறினார்,

but when the bearer of the good news arrived and cast the shirt on jacob's face, his eyesight returned and he said, "did i not tell you that i know from god what you do not know?"
பிறகு, நன்மாராயங் கூறுபவர் வந்து, (சட்டையை) அவர் முகத்தில் போட்டபோது அவர் மீண்டும் பார்வையுடையோரானார்; "நீங்கள் அறியாததையெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து நிச்சயமாக நான் அறிவேன் என்று உங்களிடம் கூறவில்லையா?" என்று (அவர்களை நோக்கிக்) கூறினார்,

"i did not tell them anything except what you commanded me to tell them. i told them that they must worship god who is everyone's lord. i watched them as long as i was among them until you raised me to yourself and you yourself had also watched over them; you are omnipresent.
"நீ எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி (மனிதர்களை நோக்கி), "என்னுடைய இறைவனும், உங்களுடைய இறைவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வையே வணங்குங்கள்" என்பதைத் தவிர வேறு எதையும் அவர்களுக்கு நான் கூறவில்லை. மேலும், நான் அவர்களுடன் (உலகில்) இருந்த காலமெல்லாம் அவர்களைக் கண்காணிப்பவனாக இருந்தேன்;. அப்பால் நீ என்னைக் கைப்பற்றிய பின்னர் நீயே அவர்கள் மீது கண்காணிப்பவனாக இருந்தாய். நீயே எல்லாப் பொருட்கள் மீதும் சாட்சியாக இருக்கிறாய்" (என்றும்);
