and they behaved arrogantly in the land and plotted evil. but the plotting of evil only rebounds on those who plot.
isku kibrin dhulka iyo dhagar xun darteed, dhagarna xumaan waxaan ahayn ehelkiisa kuma dhaco ee miyaad sugaysaan waxaan wadadii kuwii hore ahayn, mana helaysid sunnada eebe wax badala, ma helaysid sunnada eebe wax wareejiya.

so behold thou how was the end of their plotting: verily we annihilated them and their nation all together.
ee day siday noqotay cidhibtii dhagartooda anagaa halaagnay iyagii iyo qoomkoodiiba dhammaan.

verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you o muhammad (peace be upon him)).

as did their arrogance in the land, and their plotting of evil. but their evil plots will turn back on the plotters themselves.
isku kibrin dhulka iyo dhagar xun darteed, dhagarna xumaan waxaan ahayn ehelkiisa kuma dhaco ee miyaad sugaysaan waxaan wadadii kuwii hore ahayn, mana helaysid sunnada eebe wax badala, ma helaysid sunnada eebe wax wareejiya.

still they are plotting their plots, but evident are their plots to god, even though they are so adroit as to make the mountains move.
iyagoo dhagar samayn eebe agtiisaana abaalka dhagartoodu yahay, dhagartooduna ma aha mid la suulaan (tagaan) buuruhu.

[due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people.

through their stiff-neckedness in the land, and the plotting of evil only infoldeth the authors thereof. wait they, then, but the dispensation of the ancients?

and of a surety there plotted those before them; but unto allah belongeth the plotting entirely. he knoweth that which each soul earneth. and anon will the infidels know for whom is the happy ending of the abode.
waxaa wax dhagray kuwii ka horreeyey eebaase abaal maris (dhagar) iska leh dhammaan, wuxuuna ogyahay waxay kasban naf kasto, waxayna ogaan gaaladu cidday u ahaato cidhib fiican.

and when we let mankind taste of mercy after an adversity hath touched them, forthwith they have a plot with regard to his signs. say thou: allah is swifter in plotting. verily our mesengers write down that which ye plot.
markaan dhadhansiinno dadka naxariis dhibaato ka dib taabatay waxaa soo baxa iyagoo dhagri aayaadkanaga, waxaa deg-deg badan ciqaabta eebe malaa'igtanaduna way qori waxaad dhagraysaan.
