and if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

men om din hånd eller din fot frister dig, da hugg den av og kast den fra dig! det er bedre for dig å gå halt eller vanfør inn til livet enn å ha to hender eller to føtter og bli kastet i den evige ild.
wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

so that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
