unemfesane enobabalo uyehova, uzeka kade umsindo, mkhulu ngenceba.
the lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

indoda enobushushu ixhaya ingxabano; ezeka kade umsindo idambisa imbambano.
a wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

ingqiqo yomntu imenza azeke kade umsindo; sisihombo sakhe ukulugqitha ukreqo.
the discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

ninako konke ukuthobeka kwentliziyo nobulali, ninokuzeka kade umsindo, ninyamezelana, nisenziwa luthando,
with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

okanye uyabudela na ubutyebi bobubele bakhe, nonyamezelo, nokuzeka kade umsindo; ungazi ukuba ububele bukathixo bukusa enguqukweni?
or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of god leadeth thee to repentance?

yambathani ngoko, njengabanyulwa bakathixo, abangcwele, abathandiweyo, iimfesane zeemfefe, ububele, ukuthobeka kwentliziyo, ubulali, ukuzeka kade umsindo,
put on therefore, as the elect of god, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

inkosi ayilibali dinga, njengoko abathile baba iyalibala; isuka izeke kade umsindo kuthi, ingangi kungatshabalala nabani; inga bonke bangasinga enguqukweni.
the lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

uyehova wadlula ebusweni bakhe, wavakalisa esithi, uyehova, uyehova, uthixo onemfesane, onobabalo, ozeka kade umsindo, omninzi ngenceba nenyaniso;
and the lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, the lord, the lord god, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

nikrazule intliziyo yenu, ingabi ziingubo zenu, nibuyele kuyehova uthixo wenu; kuba unobabalo nemfesane, yena uzeka kade umsindo, unenceba enkulu, uyazohlwaya ngenxa yobubi.
and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the lord your god: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

wathandaza kuyehova, wathi, camagu, yehova! labe lingelilo na ilizwi lam eli, ndisesemhlabeni wakowethu? ngenxa yoko ndaphanga ngokubalekela etarshishe; ngokuba ndandisazi ukuba unguthixo obabalayo, onemfesane, ozeka kade umsindo, onenceba enkulu, ozohlwayayo ngenxa yobubi.
and he prayed unto the lord, and said, i pray thee, o lord, was not this my saying, when i was yet in my country? therefore i fled before unto tarshish: for i knew that thou art a gracious god, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
