in the afternoon we visit some of the more famous pagodas, like the botataung pagoda, the chaukhtatgyi pagoda, the reclining buddha here is almost as big as the shwethalyaung buddha in bago. finally we visit the shwedagon pagoda, set on a hilltop above the town, the highlight of any visit to yangon. this pagoda contains relics of lord buddha and is the holiest place in the country.
