ከእኛ ዘንድ የኾነ ትእዛዝ ሲኾን ( አወረድነው ) ፡ ፡ እኛ ( መልክተኞችን ) ላኪዎች ነበርን ፡ ፡

i shall certainly show you my signs . do not ask me to be hasty .
ሰው ቸኳይ ሆኖ ተፈጠረ ፡ ፡ ተዓምራቶቼን በእርግጥ አሳያችኋለሁና አታቻኩሉኝ ፡ ፡

and indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment , like that of their companions – so they must not ask me to hasten .
ለእነዚያም ለበደሉት እንደ ጓደኞቻቸው ፋንታ ብጤ ( የቅጣት ) ፋንታ አልላቸው ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ አያስቸኩሉኝ ፡ ፡

and surely i am going to send a present to them , and shall wait to see what ( answer ) do the apostles bring back .
« እኔም ወደእነርሱ ገጸ በረከትን የምልክና መልክተኞቹ በምን እንደሚመለሱ የምጠባበቅ ነኝ ፡ ፡ »

but if we were to send a wind and then their tilth has become yellow , they would never cease to disbelieve .
ነፋስንም ( በአዝመራዎች ላይ ) ብንልክና ገርጥቶ ቢያዩት ከእርሱ በኋላ በእርግጥ ( ችሮታውን ) የሚክዱ ይሆናሉ ፡ ፡

so surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions , therefore let them not ask me to hasten on .
ለእነዚያም ለበደሉት እንደ ጓደኞቻቸው ፋንታ ብጤ ( የቅጣት ) ፋንታ አልላቸው ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ አያስቸኩሉኝ ፡ ፡

but lo ! i am going to send a present unto them , and to see with what ( answer ) the messengers return .
« እኔም ወደእነርሱ ገጸ በረከትን የምልክና መልክተኞቹ በምን እንደሚመለሱ የምጠባበቅ ነኝ ፡ ፡ »

[ every ] matter [ proceeding ] from us . indeed , we were to send [ a messenger ]
ከእኛ ዘንድ የኾነ ትእዛዝ ሲኾን ( አወረድነው ) ፡ ፡ እኛ ( መልክተኞችን ) ላኪዎች ነበርን ፡ ፡

i prefer imprisonment to what they ask me to do . and if you do not avert from me the guile of these women , i will succumb to their attraction and lapse into ignorance . "
« ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ወደርሱ ከሚጠሩኝ ነገር ( ከዝሙት ) ይልቅ መታሰር ለእኔ የተወደደ ነው ፡ ፡ ተንኮላቸውንም ከእኔ ላይ ባትመልስልኝ ወደነሱ እዘነበላለሁ ፡ ፡ ከስህተተኞቹም እሆናለሁ » አለ ፡ ፡

i really do love you and i can’t control my feelings for you. i’m ready to do anything even if you want me to come and meet your family
ስላንተ ማሰብ አቆማለሁ። ስሜቴን ተረድተህ እድሉን እንድትሰጠኝ እመኛለሁ።

and verily , for those who do wrong , there is a portion of torment like to the evil portion of torment ( which came for ) their likes ( of old ) , so let them not ask me to hasten on !
ለእነዚያም ለበደሉት እንደ ጓደኞቻቸው ፋንታ ብጤ ( የቅጣት ) ፋንታ አልላቸው ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ አያስቸኩሉኝ ፡ ፡

and lo ! for those who ( now ) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day ( which came for ) their likes ( of old ) ; so let them not ask me to hasten on ( that day ) .
ለእነዚያም ለበደሉት እንደ ጓደኞቻቸው ፋንታ ብጤ ( የቅጣት ) ፋንታ አልላቸው ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ አያስቸኩሉኝ ፡ ፡
