i tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the lord.
ይህን መልእክት የጻፍሁ እኔ ጤርጥዮስ በጌታ ሰላምታ አቀርብላችኋለሁ።

i wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
ከሴሰኞች ጋር እንዳትተባበሩ በመልእክቴ ጻፍሁላችሁ።

i charge you by the lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
ይህ መልእክት ለቅዱሳን ወንድሞች ሁሉ እንዲነበብ በጌታ አምላችኋለሁ።

ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
ሰዎች ሁሉ የሚያውቁትና የሚያነቡት በልባችን የተጻፈ መልእክታችን እናንተ ናችሁ።

she said : o chiefs ! verily there hath been cast unto me an honourable epistle .
( እርሷም በደረሳት ጊዜ ) አለች « እናንተ መማክርቶች ሆይ ! እኔ ክብር ያለው ጽሑፍ ወደኔ ተጣለ ፡ ፡

the salutation of paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so i write.
በገዛ እጄ የተጻፈ የእኔ የጳውሎስ ሰላምታ ይህ ነው፤ የመልእክቴ ሁሉ ማስረጃ ይህ ነው፤ እንዲህ እጽፋለሁ።

go thou with this epistle of mine , and cast it down unto them , and turn aside from them , and see how they return .
« ይህንን ደብዳቤዬን ይዘህ ኺድ ፡ ፡ ወደእነርሱም ጣለው ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ከእነሱ ዘወር በል ፡ ፡ ምን አንደሚመልሱም ተመልከት ፡ ፡ »

and if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
በዚህ መልእክት ለተላከ ቃላችን የማይታዘዝ ማንም ቢኖር፥ ይህን ተመልከቱት፥ ያፍርም ዘንድ ከእርሱ ጋር አትተባበሩ።

therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
እንግዲያስ፥ ወንድሞች ሆይ፥ ጸንታችሁ ቁሙ፥ በቃላችንም ቢሆን ወይም በመልእክታችን የተማራችሁትን ወግ ያዙ።

this second epistle, beloved, i now write unto you; in both which i stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
ወዳጆች ሆይ፥ አሁን የምጽፍላችሁ መልእክት ይህች ሁለተኛይቱ ናት። በቅዱሳን ነቢያትም ቀድሞ የተባለውን ቃል በሐዋርያቶቻችሁም ያገኛችኋትን የጌታንና የመድኃኒትን ትእዛዝ እንድታስቡ በሁለቱ እያሳሰብኋችሁ ቅን ልቡናችሁን አነቃቃለሁ።

and when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from laodicea.
ይህችም መልእክት በእናንተ ዘንድ ከተነበበች በኋላ፥ በሎዶቅያ ሰዎች ማኅበር ደግሞ እንድትነበብ አድርጉ። ከሎዶቅያም የምትገኘውን መልእክት እናንተ ደግሞ አንብቡ።

for though i made you sorry with a letter, i do not repent, though i did repent: for i perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
በመልእክቴ ያሳዘንኋችሁ ብሆን እንኳ አልጸጸትም፤ የተጸጸትሁ ብሆን እንኳ፥ ያ መልእክት ጥቂት ጊዜ ብቻ እንዳሳዘናችሁ አያለሁና አሁን ለንስሐ ስላዘናችሁ ደስ ብሎኛል እንጂ ስላዘናችሁ አይደለም፤

forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the spirit of the living god; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
እናንተም በሕያው እግዚአብሔር መንፈስ እንጂ በቀለም አይደለም፥ ሥጋ በሆነ በልብ ጽላት እንጂ በድንጋይ ጽላት ያልተጻፈ፥ በእኛም የተገለገለ የክርስቶስ መልእክት እንደ ሆናችሁ የተገለጠ ነው።

do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
እንደ ገና ራሳችንን ልናመሰግን እንጀምራለንን? ወይስ እንደ ሌሎች የማመስገኛ መልእክት ወደ እናንተ ወይስ ከእናንተ ያስፈልገን ይሆንን?
