" quarrelling therein with each other ,
እነርሱም በእርሷ ውስጥ የሚከራከሩ ኾነው ይላሉ ፡ -

most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say ,
እናንተ ( የመካ ሰዎች ) በተለያየ ቃል ውስጥ ናችሁ ፡ ፡

to god , these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task .
እነዚያ በመልካም ሥራዎች ይጣደፋሉ ፡ ፡ እነሱም ለርሷ ቀዳሚዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡

compete with each other in performing good deeds . wherever you are , god will bring you all together .
ለሁሉም እርሱ ( በስግደት ፊቱን ) የሚያዞርባት አግጣጫ አለችው ፡ ፡ ወደ መልካም ሥራዎችም ተሽቀዳደሙ ፡ ፡ የትም ስፍራ ብትኾኑ አላህ እናንተን የተሰበሰባችሁ ኾናችሁ ያመጣችኋል ፡ ፡ አላህ በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ ቻይ ነውና ፡ ፡

we provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds , but they do not realize this .
በበጎ ነገሮች የምንቻኮልላቸው መኾንን ( ያስባሉን ) አይደለም ፤ ( ለማዘንጋት መኾኑን ) አያውቁም ፡ ፡

but parties from among them disagreed with each other , so woe to those who disbelieve , because of presence on a great day .
ከመካከላቸውም አሕዛቦቹ በእርሱ ነገር ተለያዩ ፡ ፡ ለእነዚያም ለካዱት ሰዎች ከታላቁ ቀን መጋፈጥ ወዮላቸው ፡ ፡

believers , endure , vie with each other in endurance , stand firm in your faith and fear god , so that you may succeed .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ታገሱ ተበራቱም ፡ ፡ ( በጦር ኬላ ላይ ) ተሰለፉም ፡ ፡ ትድኑም ዘንድ አላህን ፍሩ ፡ ፡

and certainly we sent to samood their brother salih , saying : serve allah ; and lo ! they became two sects quarrelling with each other .
ወደ ሰሙድም ወንድማቸውን ሷሊሕን አላህን ተገዙ በማለት በእርግጥ ላክነው ፡ ፡ ወዲያውም እነሱ የሚነታረኩ ሁለት ጭፍሮች ኾኑ ፡ ፡

believers , do not consider the jews and christians as your intimate friends for they are only friends with each other . whoever does so will be considered as one of them .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! አይሁዶችንና ክርስቲያኖችን ረዳቶች አድርጋችሁ አትያዙ ፡ ፡ ከፊላቸው ለከፊሉ ረዳቶች ናቸው ፡ ፡ ከእናንተም ውስጥ ረዳቶች የሚያደርጋቸው ሰው እርሱ ከነርሱ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህ አመጸኞችን ሕዝቦች አያቀናም ፡ ፡

and they believe in allah and the last day and command that which is reputable and prohibit that which is disreputable , and vie with each other to virtues . and these are of the righteous .
በአላህና በመጨረሻው ቀን ያምናሉ ፡ ፡ በጽድቅ ነገርም ያዛሉ ፡ ፡ ከመጥፎ ነገርም ይከለክላሉ ፡ ፡ በበጎ ሥራዎችም ይጣደፋሉ ፡ ፡ እነዚያም ከመልካሞቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

we answered his prayer and granted him his son , john , by making his wife fruitful . they were people who would compete with each other in good deeds and pray to us with love and reverence .
ለእርሱም ጥሪውን ተቀበልነው ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም የሕያን ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ሚስቱን አበጀንለት ፡ ፡ እነርሱ በበጎ ሥራዎች የሚቻኮሉ ከጃዮችና ፈሪዎች ኾነው የሚለምኑንም ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ለእኛ ተዋራጆችም ነበሩ ፡ ፡

if you conspire with each other against him , know that god is his guardian . gabriel , the righteous ( ones ) among the believers and the angels will all support him .
ወደ አላህ ብትመለሱ ልቦቻችሁ በእርግጥ ተዘንብለዋልና ( ትስማማላችሁ ) ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ላይ ብትረዳዱ አላህ እርሱ ረዳቱ ነው ፡ ፡ ጂብሪልም ከምእምናንም መልካሙ ከዚህም በኋላ መላእክቱ ረዳቶቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

( those who prostrate themselves before god and those who do not ) are two groups who dispute with each other about their lord . for the unbelievers the garment of fire has already been prepared .
እነዚህ በጌታቸው የተከራከሩ ሁለት ባላጋራዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡ እነዚያም የካዱት ለእነርሱ የእሳት ልብሶች ተለክተውላቸዋል ፡ ፡ ከራሶቻቸው በላይ የፈላ ውሃ ይምቧቧቸዋል ፡ ፡

allah puts forth a parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other , and a man belonging entirely to one master : are those two equal in comparison ? praise be to allah ! but most of them have no knowledge .
አላህ በእርሱ ተጨቃጫቂዎች የኾኑ ተጋሪዎች ያሉትን ባሪያና ለአንድ ሰው ብቻ ንጹሕ የኾነን ባሪያ ( ለሚያጋራና ባንድነቱ ለሚያምን ሰው ) ምሳሌ አደረገ ፡ ፡ በምሳሌ ይስተካከላሉን ? ምስጋና ለአላህ ይገባው ፡ ፡ በእውነቱ አብዛኞቻቸው አያውቁም ፡ ፡

so we answered him , and gave him john , curing his wife ( of sterility ) . they raced with each other in good works and called on us out of yearning and awe , and they were humble to us .
ለእርሱም ጥሪውን ተቀበልነው ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም የሕያን ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ሚስቱን አበጀንለት ፡ ፡ እነርሱ በበጎ ሥራዎች የሚቻኮሉ ከጃዮችና ፈሪዎች ኾነው የሚለምኑንም ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ለእኛ ተዋራጆችም ነበሩ ፡ ፡

these two opponents ( believers and disbelievers ) dispute with each other about their lord ; then as for those who disbelieve , garments of fire will be cut out for them , boiling water will be poured down over their heads .
እነዚህ በጌታቸው የተከራከሩ ሁለት ባላጋራዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡ እነዚያም የካዱት ለእነርሱ የእሳት ልብሶች ተለክተውላቸዋል ፡ ፡ ከራሶቻቸው በላይ የፈላ ውሃ ይምቧቧቸዋል ፡ ፡

these two antagonists dispute with each other about their lord : but those who deny ( their lord ) , - for them will be cut out a garment of fire : over their heads will be poured out boiling water .
እነዚህ በጌታቸው የተከራከሩ ሁለት ባላጋራዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡ እነዚያም የካዱት ለእነርሱ የእሳት ልብሶች ተለክተውላቸዋል ፡ ፡ ከራሶቻቸው በላይ የፈላ ውሃ ይምቧቧቸዋል ፡ ፡

accommodate them where you also reside , according to your means , and do not harass them to make it difficult upon them ; and if they are pregnant , give them the provision till they deliver their burden ; then if they suckle the child for you , pay them its due ; and consult with each other in a reasonable manner ; and if you create hardship for one another , the child will get another breast feeding nurse .
ከችሎታችሁ ከተቀመጣችሁበት ስፍራ አስቀምጧቸው ፡ ፡ በእነርሱም ላይ ልታጣብቡ አትጉዷቸው ፡ ፡ የእርግዝና ባለቤቶችም ቢኾኑ እርጉዛቸውን እስኪወልዱ ድረስ በእነርሱ ላይ ቀልቡ ፡ ፡ ለእናንተም ( ልጆቻችሁን ) ቢያጠቡላችሁ ምንዳዎቻቸውን ስጧቸው ፡ ፡ በመካከላችሁም በመልካም ነገር ተመካከሩ ፡ ፡ ብትቸጋገሩም ለእርሱ ሌላ ( ሴት ) ታጠባለታለች ፡ ፡
