သတ္တမနှစ်သည်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားအဘို့ ဥပုသ်နှစ်၊ တပြည်လုံး ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာနေ၍ ဥပုသ်စောင့်ရသော နှစ်ဖြစ်၏။ လယ်မလုပ်ရ၊ စပျစ်ဥယျာဉ်ကို မသုတ်သင်ရ၊

it shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
ထိုနေ့သည် ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာ နေရသောနေ့၊ ခြိုးခြံစွာကျင့်ရသောနေ့ ဖြစ်၏။ နဝမနေ့ ညဦးမှစ၍ နက်ဖြန် ညဦးတိုင်အောင် ဥပုသ်စောင့်ရမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

and now will i shew thee the truth. behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of grecia.
ယခုမူကား၊ မှန်သောအရာကိုငါပြမည်။ ပေရသိ နိုင်ငံကို အစိုးရသော ရှင်ဘုရင် သုံးပါးပေါ် လေဦးမည်။ စတုတ္ထရှင်ဘုရားမူကား၊ ထိုသူ ရှိသမျှတို့ထက် ငွေရတတ်လိမ့်မည်။ ထိုသို့ရတတ်၍ အားကြီးသောကြောင့်၊ ဟေလသနိုင်ငံကို ရန်ဘက်ပြုစေ ခြင်းငှါ၊ ခပ်သိမ်းသော သူတို့ကို နှိုးဆော်လိမ့်မည်။
