जलील मत करना किसी गरीब को वेवअपने चौखट पर सिरफ भीख माॉगने नही दुआ भी देने आते है

and if he is of those who are on the right ,
और यदि वह भाग्यशालियों में से है ,

except those who are steadfast
किन्तु नमाज़ अदा करनेवालों की बात और है ,

do not follow those who are extravagant ,
और ज्यादती करने वालों का कहा न मानों

the worst beasts before allah are those who are deaf , dumb , and do not understand .
इसमें शक़ नहीं कि ज़मीन पर चलने वाले तमाम हैवानात से बदतर ख़ुदा के नज़दीक वह बहरे गूँगे हैं जो कुछ नहीं समझते

the rights of those who are engaged in war .
उन लोगों के अधिकार जो युद्ध में संलग्न हों ।

but those who do not believe in the hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the right way .
और इसमें शक नहीं कि जो लोग आख़िरत पर ईमान नहीं रखते वह सीधी राह से हटे हुए हैं

follow those who do not ask you for any reward and who are rightly guided .
ऐसे लोगों का कहना मानो जो तुमसे कुछ मज़दूरी नहीं माँगते और वह लोग हिदायत याफ्ता भी हैं

do not obey the bidding of those who are given to excesses ,
और ज्यादती करने वालों का कहा न मानों

but surely we do not let the reward of those who believe and do the right to go waste .
इसमें शक़ नहीं कि जिन लोगों ने ईमान कुबूल किया और अच्छे अच्छे काम करते रहे तो हम हरगिज़ अच्छे काम वालो के अज्र को अकारत नहीं करते

" do not argue in my presence . i had announced the promise of doom in advance .
इस पर ख़ुदा फ़रमाएगा हमारे सामने झगड़े न करो मैं तो तुम लोगों को पहले ही डरा चुका था

and do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves . god does not love the deceitful sinner .
और तुम की तरफ़ होकर न लड़ो जो अपने ही से दग़ाबाज़ी करते हैं बेशक ख़ुदा ऐसे शख्स को दोस्त नहीं रखता जो दग़ाबाज़ गुनाहगार हो

the lord will say , " do not argue in my presence ; i had certainly sent you a warning .
इस पर ख़ुदा फ़रमाएगा हमारे सामने झगड़े न करो मैं तो तुम लोगों को पहले ही डरा चुका था

do not argue for those who harbour deceit in their hearts , for god does not love the treacherous and the iniquitous .
और तुम की तरफ़ होकर न लड़ो जो अपने ही से दग़ाबाज़ी करते हैं बेशक ख़ुदा ऐसे शख्स को दोस्त नहीं रखता जो दग़ाबाज़ गुनाहगार हो

and do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves , surely , allah does not love the sinful traitor .
और तुम की तरफ़ होकर न लड़ो जो अपने ही से दग़ाबाज़ी करते हैं बेशक ख़ुदा ऐसे शख्स को दोस्त नहीं रखता जो दग़ाबाज़ गुनाहगार हो

and do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves . indeed , allah loves not one who is a habitually sinful deceiver .
और तुम की तरफ़ होकर न लड़ो जो अपने ही से दग़ाबाज़ी करते हैं बेशक ख़ुदा ऐसे शख्स को दोस्त नहीं रखता जो दग़ाबाज़ गुनाहगार हो

you are those who disputed about things of which you had some knowledge . must you now argue about things of which you have no knowledge ? god knows , but you do not know .
तो क्या तुम इतना भी नहीं समझते ? तुम वही एहमक़ लोग हो कि जिस का तुम्हें कुछ इल्म था उसमें तो झगड़ा कर चुके फिर तब उसमें क्या झगड़ने बैठे हो जिसकी तुम्हें कुछ ख़बर नहीं और खुदा जानता है और तुम नहीं जानते

people do not own the right to intercede , except those * who have made a covenant with the most gracious .
ये लोग सिफारिश पर भी क़ादिर न होंगे मगर जिस शख्स ने ख़ुदा से एक़रा ले लिया हो

should we equate those who do the right with those who spread corruption in the land ? should we make those who are morally integrated equal to those who seek disintegration ?
क्या जिन लोगों ने ईमान कुबूल किया और अच्छे - अच्छे काम किए उनको हम कर दें जो रूए ज़मीन में फसाद फैलाया करते हैं या हम परहेज़गारों को मिसल बदकारों के बना दें

and do not argue with the people of the scripture except in a way that is best , except for those who commit injustice among them , and say , " we believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you . and our god and your god is one ; and we are muslims to him . "
और किताबवालों से बस उत्तम रीति ही से वाद - विवाद करो - रहे वे लोग जो उनमें ज़ालिम हैं , उनकी बात दूसरी है - और कहो - " हम ईमान लाए उस चीज़ पर जो अवतरित हुई और तुम्हारी ओर भी अवतरित हुई । और हमारा पूज्य और तुम्हारा पूज्य अकेला ही है और हम उसी के आज्ञाकारी है । "
